The Monroe County Sting have done it again in 2010 by traveling to Miami, Florida and taking on the Kings Comets (OH) in the USA Bowl D1/3A National Championship game defeating them 21-20. This game was close throughout and what has been now dubbed as "98 Yards To Go!" The Monroe County Sting were down 20 - 14 with less than two minutes to go and 98 yards in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Doby Howard led his team 98 yards and threw a 26 yard touchdown pass to Derek Davis to tie the game and ensuing extra point sealed the victory! It was truly a game that you had to be there to feel the emotion that was taking place in the arena.

The Monroe County Sting have continued their winning ways by defeating the Lyndonville Tigers 22-9 for the Northeastern Football Alliance League Championship. This marks the third league championship in 5 years for the Sting. The Sting is now headed to Homestead, Florida (Harris Field) where they will defend their National Championship from last year against the Kings Comets (OH) on January 16, 2010.
