II Fees
Fees are $80 a month for traveling teams and there is an initial registration fee of $150. NETVC also offers a limited traveling 12 year old team. This team travels to only 2 tournaments ( NETVC tourney and one more ). Cost for limited traveling team is $50 a month with the registration fee of $150. The registration fee covers the USAV fee of $50 and $100 for 2 uniforms (spandex and shirts). Therefore if no spandex or shirts are needed for the player (i.e. they played the previous season and still have old uniforms) then the fee is only $50. Registration fee is non-refundable after the player has been registered (which is the day teams are set). The monthly fees cover tournament entry fees, coaches’ expenses, and equipment. Fees are due at our monthly parents meetings. Please make all checks payable to NETVC and put your daughters name on each check. Turn in all checks to your team coach.
III Teams
Teams are divided by age and into groups between 9-10 players(minimum 7 players and a maximum of 10 players). Age qualifications are determined by the rules of USAV (see attachment). Players may be asked to play above their age group. Players are not assured to be placed on any certain team. NETVC has no affiliation with any high school and will not set teams based on schools attended. Teams will be set by the first weekend in December. **Players must let us know if they will be playing for NETVC instead of another club by the second practice.
IV Practice
There are at least 2 practices a week, once during the week and one on Sunday afternoons (between church times). It is important to attend all practices. Basketball and Softball players need to attend as much as possible. Practice schedule will be given at least a week in advance. Practice time is important in determining playing time. Please try and attend scheduled practices. Reasonable excuses for missing practices are school related activities, church, work, family, injury, illness, and weather (Dates, washing hair, or not wanting to come are no good). If you are going to miss a practice please call your coach and let them know. Playing time can be affected if your coach is not notified of missing practice.
V Uniforms
Each player will receive two uniform shirts and two pairs of spandex. After the season, the uniforms are kept by the players. ** Only NETVC uniforms and apparel will be worn. There will be no special team shirts or uniforms. Please remember to bring both shirts and pairs of spandex to tournaments.
VI Tournaments
Tournaments are scheduled to begin in mid January and continue through late April. Each team will meet in early December to determine their tournament schedule for that season. NETVC teams may choose 5 tournaments with an option for a sixth. If a sixth tournament is chosen an extra fee will be charged to that team. Teams may choose a maximum of two 2-day tournaments (an extra fee will be applied for a 3rd). Travel to and from the tournament is not covered in club fees. Hotel information will be provided two weeks before a tournament. Gym directions will be e-mailed the week of the tournament and given out at the practice before a tournament. Tournament playing time is determined by the coach. Please remember that at all tournaments we are all representing our club and area.
VII Referee
At USAV tournaments each team is responsible to referee matches. Girls are required to umpire (down ref), call lines, keep score, and sometimes referee. We require all our players to attend a referee/scorekeeper clinic so that each team will have enough certified refs/scorekeepers. Parents are encouraged to get certified as well (to referee: a parent must be registered with USAV-$25). We will try to host a private referee clinic first weekend in January.
VIII Commitment
NETVC involves a great commitment to help improve volleyball skills. We ask for cooperation from parents and players. Showing up for practice, respecting all coaches, good sportsmanship, and a positive attitude are what makes NETVC a great place to learn volleyball. A new rule for NETVC is that if a player quits at any time during the season (except for injury), NETVC may not allow them back the next season.
IX Problems
Any problems with coaches, club decisions, or other club activities need to be directed to Wes or Ryan. Feel free to contact us for any problems or questions that you have.
Our first practice will be on Sunday, November 8th. Sites are to be determined. We will contact each player by e-mail or phone. If you have not heard from us by Thursday, November 5th please call or e-mail us. Please bring all registration forms and registration fees to the first practice. You must be registered and bring the medical release forms (does not have to be notarized) to be able to practice.
