WHAT IS THE N.C.J.F.A.?
The N.C.J.F.A. is proud to announce that it is a new member of the "AYF" (AMERICAN YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE). Our goal is to increase the level of competition that our players will experience and to allow our players to participate in more suitable age & weight levels.
The Northwest Chicago Junior Football Association was established to provide a safe and fun environment for young boys & girls to learn the fundamentals of football and cheerleading along with team sportsmanship. The league is run and coached entirely by a staff of volunteers.
This association was founded to sponsor a football and cheerleading program within the area known as northwest Chicago and it's surrounding communities. This association provides an opportunity for all interested boys and girls from the ages of 5-14 years old to participate in what we feel is the best football program in the area.
HOW DOES THE PROGRAM OPERATE?
*Teams are assembled by age & weight in order to form our flag and cougars football programs.
*Our program consists of several divisions: Flag (Jr. and Sr.), 6 Cougars football teams (and possibly more teams at any cougars division depending on registration) and cheerleading for the cougars football teams.
*Practices are every night from 6 - 8PM up until the first game. After the first game, 3 nights a week from 6 - 8PM. (for flag) and up to 4 nights a week 6pm -8pm
for cougars football.
*Flag games are played at Portage Park on Saturdays. Traveling games will be played on either Saturday or Sundays at home (Portage Park or Luther High School North) or at the home of one of the following leagues...Depending on our schedule.

WHAT IS REQUIRED?
*Registration fees must be paid before the start of the first game, unless payment arrangements have been made. REGISTRATION FEES FOR 2007 ARE AS FOLLOWS:
JR. FLAG - $130
SR. FLAG - $130
COUGARS FOOTBALL - $180
CHEERLEADING - $150
*Required to participate in our main fundraiser - $50 in raffle tickets - or
the parent may opt to "buy out" instead of selling raffle tickets.
*Must produce a copy of birth certificate which will be kept on file.
*14 yr olds must have a report card or proof of grade before being assigned a team.
*$30.00 Non refundable deposit.
WHY SHOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN THE N.C.J.F.A. PROGRAM?
*Compete with players the same age and weight.
*All players who sign-up will play. We have a "Clear the bench" rule in our flag football program, and a 8 play rule in our cougars football program.
*Coaches are dedicated to excellence. All coaches are volunteers and spend many hours during the season to plan, train, and coach.
*Players are provided with the best equipment money can buy.
*Excellent safety record.
*Players and Cheerleaders are covered by the N.C.J.F.A. Insurance program as a secondary carrier.
*The program emphasizes Academic Achievement, Fitness, Sportsmanship, Leadership, and Teamwork.
*It's a family affair - Parents participate too!
*Annual awards banquet for players, cheerleaders, coaches and parents.
WHY REGISTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE?
*Current interest in registration looks like rosters will be filled before our cut-off date.
*All players are registered on a first come first served basis, until a maximum roster size per team is reached. After rosters are filled, players will be assigned to a waiting list in the order they apply.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION FEES?
Registration fees cover the cost of participation in all league games, insurance coverage, referee fees, league fees, trophies, banquet, jersey, ad book, homecoming and administration costs for football players and cheerleaders. In addition, each player / cheerleader will use equipment and uniforms provided by the league.

ALL FLAG PLAYERS MUST PURCHASE WHITE FOOTBALL PANTS W/ PADS AND FOOTBALL SHOES.
For Cougars Players...

All players must purchase their own football shoes, supporter w/cup, and black football pants w/pads
*HELMETS, SHOULDER AND RIB PADS ISSUED ARE PROPERTY OF THE N.C.J.F.A.
AND MUST BE RETURNED AT SEASON'S END.
