The North Andover Booster Club is running a volleyball program for boys in the middle school, grades 6-8, this fall. 

The program will run from mid-September through mid-November on Monday and Friday nights at the North Andover Middle School.

The program’s intent is to have fun but to also teach the boys the game of volleyball.

Registration for the program will be open on-line on this site from 8/1 through mid-September.  There will also be a walk-in registration night held in early September. Please continue to check the website for more information. 

The program will need coaches. Interested parents with volleyball experience are always welcome as volunteers.

Just a reminder that we do not have practice on Monday Sept 12th or Monday Oct 12th.  The schools are closed.

Dear Volleyball Parents,

   We had a great showing last night for the first night of practice for the Boys Volleyball program.  This is a brand new program, so for this year we are working out what works best for the program as far as practices go.  We have 20 kids signed up and a few more that are supposed to show on Friday. If we stay under 30 kids we will be able to practice and play all together. If our numbers grow over that in the next few weeks we may shift our plans.

   For right now we are going to practice/scrimmage Monday and Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the Middle School Gym.  We do not have practice Monday Sept 28th or Monday Oct 12th since the schools are closed.  Please make sure the boys always bring their knee pads since they are mandatory equipment. We will be ordering T-shirts for the boys in the next few weeks once our numbers even out.  

Many of the volunteers do not have a son in the program, and enjoy doing this, but we'd love to see a more parent volunteers.  We have 3 fathers who offered to help us coach last night and we are grateful for their help.  You do not need to know anything about coaching volleyball, you can learn as you go, as most of us have working in the girl's program.

John Armstrong and Gary Burns are the commissioners this year, but we also have George Hillman helping out with the program.  George started the girls program 9 years ago and it now has over 200 girls participating in the Boosters program, as well as many Booster alumni playing for the high school teams.  If you have any questions please contact Gary Burns at gpburns@comcast.net or John Armstrong at john_armstrong@comcast.net.
