Mustang 5k: Welcome
San Marin High School Cross Country site for fundraising--don't miss the Labor Day 5k and Youth One mile races!!!Monday, September 1
Despite the red flag warning and the mad scramble to change and measure a new course, we were able to put on the 2008 event with minimal issues. Thanks to all the participants for being so laid-back about our situation. It looks like everyone had a good time, there were great treats including Clif Bars donated by Clif Bar, bananas from Harvest Market, plenty of water provided by Longs, coffee from Starbucks, Bagels from Noah's and juice boxes and apples from Trader Joes. Thanks again to all of our sponsors--please be sure to support them and let them know you ran in our race.
In addition, we owe a lot of gratitude to our volunteers--Bob Shor once again set everyone off in "motion" with his great starts; Art Marthinsen and daughter, Sarah, got up before the crack of dawn to mark the course; the Hansons stepped in to run our great raffle of prizes; Sylvia Barry, Brenda Pfeifer, and Marguerite Couvillion and Cris Jones were instrumental at the registration desk. Also kudos to super volunteers, the Welters and the Gradls, Marian Caldwell and Debbie LaVere--who delivered products and helped with set-up and course monitoring. Further recognition to other course monitors and volunteers--Roy Pfeifer, Roger Klein, Vincent Reed, Ruth Ann and Josh Newberry, Tim Friedman, Kelsey Diederich, Rebecca Bennett, Mary Welter, Bridget Pacchetti, and Megan Caldwell. Adam Williams was instrumental in getting the cones out on the road, with assistance from Jacob Jones and Dillon Gradl. Many thanks to Lillian O'Reilly and Steve Deschler for timing and helping with results. Additional thanks to Cindy Goh for finish line work and to Frank Ruona and Ghilotti for the "cones".
