Farewell to the Class of 2009
Best wishes and thanks to the class of 2009:
Emma Burt, Anna Mallory, Emily Nelson, Mike Kosiak, Brian Peterson and Shane Wehlage. Your leadership, dedication and positive attitude will be greatly missed.
In addition, thanks to the parents of these seniors for all your hard work and support throughout the years.
Thursday, February 5
Section Results
On Wednesday, February 4 the team competed in the Section 4 championships at Wild Mountain. Section 4 is made up of 18 teams from around the metro area. The top two teams and top ten individuals (not on the top two teams) advance to state. Mounds View's boys and girls teams finished in 9th place and 11th place, respectively. St. Thomas Academy took the top spot for the boys and Stillwater for the girls. Second place went to Minnehaha for the boys and girls. Mike Kosiak was the top finisher for the Mustangs coming in 22nd place. Mike missed the cut for state by a mere 4 places.

All Conference Meet Results
The All Conference meet took place on Thursday, January 29 at Wild Mountain. Only varsity skiers competed in this meet. The boy's team finished in third place. Congratulations to Mike Kosiak who finished in 8th place out of sixty skiers that included some of the state's best racers. The girl's team finished in 5th place. Freshmen Rachel Pilgrim was the top finisher for the Mustangs coming in 20th.

Non Conference Tri Meet Results - Jan. 22, 2009
Last night Mounds View took on Centennial and Hill Murray - two strong non-conference opponents.
Both boys and girls varsity lost to Centennial 17-38 and 10-45, respectively. Top finishers were Mike Kosiak (5th place) and Emily Nelson (5th place). JV boys won their meet 35-20 while the girls, having only one skier, lost. Aaron Jacobson was the medalist in the boys JV race.
The boys' varsity lost to Hill Murray 25-30 and the girls won 30-25. Top finishers were Mike Kosiak (2nd place) and Emily Nelson (3rd place). The boys JV lost 17-38 and the girls won 10-0. Top JV finishers were Aaron Jacobson (4th place) and Samantha Edwardson (1st place).

Buck Hill Invite
On Friday, January 9 the team competed against 22 other teams in the Buck Hill Invite. On varsity, the girls finished in 19th place and the guys finished in 18th place. On JV, the girls finished in 15th place and the guys finished in 13th place. The team placed 13th overall in the team cup which consists of all four teams.

2007/2008 Season Highlights
VARSITY
The Mounds View girls alpine ski team finished in a tie for fifth place in the Suburban East Conference with a 4-4 record. Caitlin Lahr, Cara Morphew and Emily Nelson received All Conference honors. Their point totals for the season were 63, 54 and 43, respectively. Their overall rank in the conference was 5th, 12th and 16th, respectively. Amelia Narigon received honorable mention with 29 points. Season point totals for the remaining skiers are Emma Burt (24), Rebecca Rasmussen (20), Anna Hadley (11), Sara Ordal (8), and Dana Snuggerud (4).
The boys placed third in the conference with a 5-3 record. Chris Wise and Aaron Blaha received All Conference honors. Their point totals for the season were 62 and 39, respectively. Their overall rank in the conference was 4th and 19th, respectively. Harry Merickel, Thomas Jemielita and Mike Kosiak received honorable mentions. Harry finished the season with 36 points while Thomas and Mike had 33 points each. Season point totals for the remaining skiers are Tyler Thostenson (14), Shane Wehlage (11), Brian Peterson (11), Zarek Boutaghou (9), and Robert Ervasti (8).
JR. VARSITY
The boys finished with a 7-1 conference record. The girls finished with a 3-5 conference record.
Monday, December 22
Wild Invite
On Friday, December 21 the team competed against 27 other teams in the Wild Invite. The girls finished in 8th place. The guys finished in 12th place.

2006/2007 Season Highlights
The Mounds View girls alpine ski team won the Suburban East Conference with an undefeated 8-0 record. Louise Dickson, Caitlin Lahr, Audra Kirch and Kelsey Baran received all conference honors. Emma Turnquist and Cara Morphew received honorable mentions.
At sections, the girls finished fourth as a team. Kelsey Baran and Caitlin Lahr qualified for state with a seventh and ninth place finish, respectively.
The boys placed second in the conference with a 6-2 record. Harry Merickel, Aaron Blaha and Chris Wise received all conference honors. Colin and Sean McSteen received honorable mentions.
At sections, the boys finished eighth as a team. Top finishers were Harry Merickel (12th) and Aaron Kroger (26th place).
