Morrisville Little League: MLL - Spring 2010 Standings Divisions

Intro to Tee ball
Eligibility:
First year players ages 4, 5, or 6 as of April 30, 2010

Purpose:
To teach players the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and throwing the ball and running the bases

Basic Structure:
Players are placed on a team by the League Player Agent and the Tee Ball Coordinator. Teams will play other teams from Morrisville Little League. Games are played on Saturday mornings from mid April through early June. Games last 3 innings. Score is not kept. Players hit off the tee for the entire season. Outs are not recorded. Each half inning ends when every player has had an at-bat.

Equipment:
The league will provide each player with a hat, shirt, pants and socks. The league will provide each team with bats, balls, catcher's gear, helmets, first aid kit and ice packs. Each player needs to have his/her own glove. Each player should wear sneakers to games.

Location:
All games are played on the Tee Ball fields in Williamson Park on Delmorr Avenue in Morrisville.


Tee Ball
Eligibility:
Second year players ages 5, 6, or 7 as of April 30, 2010


Purpose:
To teach players the fundamentals of hitting, fielding and throwing the ball and running the bases.

Players are placed on a team by the League Player Agent and the Tee Ball Coordinator. Teams will play other teams from Morrisville Little League. Teams will typically play two games per week on either Tuesdays or Thursdays and Saturdays from mid April through early June. Coaches may also hold a practice each week. Games last 5 innings. Score is not kept. Players hit off the tee for the first half of the season. Coaches pitch for the second half of the season. Outs are recorded. Each half inning ends when either eight players hit or three outs are recorded.

Equipment:
The league will provide each player with a hat, shirt, pants and socks. The league will provide each team with bats, balls, catcher's gear, helmets, first aid kits and ice packs. Each player needs to have his/her own glove. Each player should wear sneakers.

Location:
All games are played on the Tee Ball fields in Williamson Park on Delmorr Avenue in Morrisville.


Transition
Eligibility:
Players ages 6 or 7 as of April 30, 2010 who have played Tee ball for 2 years or age 8 playes as drafted

Purpose:
The transitional league is designed to assist the player to move from Tee ball to a pitching league. This is accomplished by coach pitchng and a heavy emphasis on safety and instruction. This league promotes learning baseball skills in general and hitting skills in particular.

Basic Structure:
Players are placed on a team via the annual draft - held in early March. Teams will play other teams from Morrisville Little League. Teams will typically play two games per week from early April through early June. Teams will practice once per week. Games last 5 innings. Score is kept. An inning ends when either 3 outs are recorded or 4 runs are scored. Coaches pitch for the first half of the season. Players pitch for the second half of the season. There is no stealing, no bunting and no walks.

Equipment:
The league will provide each player with a hat, shirt, pants and socks. The league will provide each team with bats, balls, catcher's gear, helmets, first aid kit and ice packs. Each player needs to have his/her own glove. Each player should wear sneakers or rubber cleats. Boys must wear a protective cup.

Location:
All games are played on the fields in Williamson Park on Delmorr Avenue in Morrisville.



Minor League Baseball
Eligibility:
Players age 8,9, or 10 as drafted. Ages are as of April 30, 2010

Purpose:
The minor league baseball division is designed to provide players with instruction and assistance with development while introducing the competitive aspect of the game. This is accomplished by dividing the season into three sections; spring training, regular season, and playoffs.

Basic Structure:
Players are placed on a team via the annual draft - held in early March. Teams will play other teams from Morrisville Little League. Teams will typically play two games per week from early April through early June. Teams will practice once or twice per week. Games last 6 innings, subject to a 2 hour time limit. Scores and standings are kept. An inning ends when either 3 outs are recorded or 4 runs are scored. Players pitch the entire season. Stealing, bunting, and walks are allowed.

Equipment:
The league will provide each player with a hat, shirt, pants and socks. The league will provide each team with bats, balls, catcher's gear, helmets, first aid kit and ice packs. Each player needs to have his/her own glove. Each player should wear rubber cleats. Boys must wear a protective cup.

Location:
All games are played on the Minor League field(the field at the north end of the park) in Williamson Park on Delmorr Avenue in Morrisville.


Major League Baseball
Eligibility:
Players age 11 and 12 and age 10 as drafted. Ages are as of April 30, 2010

Purpose:
The major league baseball division is a competitive baseball league. This division will also provide a high level of instruction and development.

Basic Structure:
Players are placed on a team via the annual draft - held in early March. Teams will play other teams from Morrisville Little League. Teams will typically play two games per week from early April through early June. Teams will practice once or twice per week. Games last 6 innings.

The league will provide each player with a hat, shirt, pants and socks. The league will provide each team with bats, balls, catcher's gear, helmets, first aid kit and ice packs. Each player needs to have his/her own glove. Each player should wear rubber cleats. Boys must wear a protective cup.

All games are played on the Major League field(the field next to the playground and the batting cage) in Williamson Park on Delmorr Avenue in Morrisville.


Junior League Baseball
Eligibility:
Players age 13 and 14 as of April 30, 2010

Purpose:
The junior league baseball division is a competitive baseball league that plays on the large baseball field (the field with 90 foot base paths). This division will also provide a high level of instruction and development.

Basic Structure:
Players are placed on a team of other Morrisville Little League players via the annual draft - held in early March. Teams will play other teams from leagues within Little League District 21. These teams are typically from Bensalem, Bristol, Croydon, Levittown International, Levittown Pacific, Neshaminy and Penndel. Teams will typically play two games per week from mid April through early June either on Tuesdays or Wednesdays (6pm start time) and Saturdays (various start times). Teams will practice once or twice per week. Games last 7 innings.

Equipment:
The league will provide each player with a hat, shirt, pants and socks. The league will provide each team with bats, balls, catcher's gear, helmets, first aid kit and ice packs. Each player needs to have his/her own glove. Each player should wear metal cleats. Boys must wear a protective cup.

Location:
All home games are played on the Big Baseball field(the field between the parking lot and the levee) in Williamson Park on Delmorr Avenue in Morrisville. Away games are played at the fields of the various teams in the league.



Senior League Baseball
Eligibility:
Players age 15 and 16 as of April 30, 2010

Purpose:
The senior league baseball division is a competitive baseball league that plays on the large baseball field (the field with 90 foot base paths). This division will also provide a high level of instruction and development.

Basic Structure:
Players are placed on a team of other Morrisville Little League players via the annual draft - held in early March. Teams will play other teams from leagues within Little League District 21. These teams are typically from Bensalem, Bristol, Croydon, Levittown International, Levittown Pacific, Neshaminy and Penndel. Teams will typically play two games per week from mid April through early June either on Tuesdays or Wednesdays (6pm start time) and Saturdays (various start times). Teams will practice once or twice per week. Games last 7 innings.

Elgibility:
Players ages 7,8, and 9 as of December 31, 2009

Purpose:
The minor league softball division provides a high level of instruction and development. This league focuses on teaching the fundamentals of softball.

Basic Structure:
Players are placed on a team of other Morrisville Little League players via the annual draft - held in early March. Teams will play other teams from leagues within Little League District 21. Those teams are typically from Bensalem, Bristol, Croydon, and Neshaminy. Teams will typically play two games per week on Saturdays and Sundays (various start times) from mid April through early June. Teams will practice once or twice per week.

Equipment:
The league will provide each player with a visor, shirt, shorts and socks. The league will provide each team with bats, balls, catcher's gear, helmets, first aid kits and ice packs. Each player needs to have her own glove.

Location:
All home games are played on the softball field in Williamson Park on Delmorr Avenue in Morrisville. Away games are played at the fields of the various teams in the league.



Major League Softball

The major league softball division is a competitive softball league that plays on the South Field (the softball field at the south end of Williamson Park). This division will also provide a high level of instruction and development.

Players are placed on a team of other Morrisville Little League players via the annual draft - held in early March. Teams will play other teams from leagues within Little League District 21. Those teams are typically from Bensalem, Bristol, Croydon, and Neshaminy. Teams will typically play two games per week on Tuesdays (6pm start time) and Saturdays (various start times) from mid April through early June. Teams will practice once or twice per week.

Teams will practice once or twice per week.
