2005 Football Cheerleaders Help Others in Need
The Football Cheerleaders used their time and energy this year not only toward looking better at games, but also toward helping others in our community. The Football Cheerleaders were able to raise money during Spirit Week this year, by charging 25 cents per vote for the Most Spirited awards. The girls worked very hard to put on a great Pep Rally, and presented over $100 to the family of Dave Malbon to help with his ongoing medical expenses! It was a great effort by the whole high school.
Prior to the Spirit Week fundraiser, the girls had decided to help out with Hurricane Katrina survivors. In October, through an extremely generous donation from Paul & Mary Stanley, the girls were able to stock the Stanley's camper trailer and donate it to a needy family from Mississippi. Trisha Melton graduated from Ticonderoga High School in 1999 and now lives with her family, husband John and baby Kimmy, in Mississippi--so it was a great opportunity to help someone close to us! The camper will be well appreciated and used by Trisha's family and neighbors as they try to recover and rebuild.
We've had a great season and these girls have worked very hard on and off the field--so if you see one of them, tell them great job!

2004 Football Cheer well represented at Athletic Banquet
The Football Cheerleaders were recognized for their hard work and dedication to MCS at the annual Athletic Banquet. We had a fun season and learned a lot despite the harsh weather and a few disrespectful citizens. Thanks to all the Football Cheer Moms for their support, help with fundraisers and hot chocolate and ponchos! We hope to see our tiny team grow in the future. We will miss our three seniors (and this year's co-MVPs!), Dani, Lacy & Brandi so much! They made a big difference in many ways and we hope they all come back to visit us next year. We wish them the best in the future as they head off to college and promising careers!

2004 Football Cheer Walks for St. Jude's
The Varsity Football Cheerleaders decided to give back a portion of what they have earned this season on October 16. Daniella H. and Sara S. represented MCS at the Westport Fairgrounds Walk-a-thon and walked several laps before presenting St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital with a donation from their teammates. Thank you to those girls for giving up a part of their Saturday morning and to all the girls and cheer moms for raising the money that allowed us to give a generous contribution to a worthy cause!
