Welcome to the 2010 Little League season!
As you may know, Moreland Little League is a 100% volunteer-run operation. It takes a team effort on the part of both players and families alike to create a season full of fun and life-long memories. Board Members, League Officers, Managers and Coaches volunteer countless hours before, during, and after the season to ensure that the league runs successfully.
We can't do it alone, however. It takes the effort of our entire adult membership to provide our children with the type of Little League experience they deserve!
Twelve Hours of Volunteer Service Required
Each parent or guardian who wishes to be a Regular Member of Moreland Little League is required to put in 12 hours of volunteer service during the season.
Serving as a volunteer automatically qualifies you as a Regular Member of the organization, as defined by our Little League Constitution.
Buy-Out Option
We do offer a buy-out option for those that do not wish to volunteer their time and enthusiasm. The buy-out is $120 per parent or guardian opting out of the required 12 hours of volunteer service. Paying the buy-out fee qualifies you as a Regular member.
Choose a Position that Fits Your Interests
Moreland Little League needs your participation and the Board of Directors encourages everyone to sign-up to volunteer and to help make a difference. It will make you feel good, and the kids will thank-you, too!
Moreland Little League has created many new volunteering opportunities this year, designed to meet the needs of our League, as well as to meet the needs and tastes of our membership.
Please review the list below and find the opportunities that best suit
your personality or taste!

Snack Shack Shifts
During the registration process, each parent or guardian
will automatically be assigned to one fun-filled shift in the Snack
Shack where you will greet and serve an army of Moreland Little
Leaguers who have just done battle on the fields!
This shift will account for 4 hours of the total 12 hour volunteering
commitment. You will then have the opportunity to select the volunteer
roles of your choice to complete your remaining 8 hours of service.
A Volunteer Coordinator Will Contact You
Each volunteer position reports to a League Officer.
Following registration, and before the start of the season, you will be contacted by the appropriate volunteer coordinator who will outline his/her expectations for your volunteer position during the season.
Please recognize that you may not receive your desired volunteer role(s), as many of the roles are limited (for instance, there can only be one Team Parent per team) and availability may be dependent upon the timing of your registration. Our volunteer coordinators will do everything they can to accommodate your specific desires.
Once the season starts, you will be required to show up for the shifts you are assigned.
What If You Have a Scheduling Conflict?
If after signing up you have a conflict with a scheduled shift, it is your responsibility to contact the appropriate volunteer coordinator to reschedule or to sign up for a different job. Failure to make these arrangements or to show up for your scheduled job will have a detrimental effect on the League and will signal your intention to pay the $120 buyout fee.
Thank You for Your Help!
Moreland Little League would like to thank you in all in advance for your continued participation and enthusiasm. Together, we will make our 50th Anniversary Season a memorable season for everyone!
We'll see you on the fields!!
