Both JV and Varsity are in action this weekend... JV @ Thompson Valley HS and Varsity @ Weld Central HS. Both buses are leaving at 6am Saturday morning... be at school by 5:45am. DON'T BE LATE!!! Weigh-ins are at 7am, and wrestling starts at 9am for both. JV will probably be back at Monarch around 2pm on Saturday. Varsity will return around 4pm. Hope to see you there!
Also... when we travel to Nebraska, we will be staying at the Comfort Inn in Ogallala, NE on Friday night (no more Bates Motel). If anyone is planning on traveling on Friday with us, and would like to stay there, let me know and I can give you the contact info.

We will be doing weight certification on Tuesday, December 22nd at 1pm. Everyone must be certified to compete after winter break. Please make plans to be there.

Varsity @ Wheat Ridge Invite- We won our second team trophy ever!!! We finished 2nd in the 12 team tournament behind Roosevelt. Nine wrestlers brought home medals- Christian Valentine 1st / Jared Ferrera 4th / Scott Podlogar 4th / Joe Tucker 4th / Gus Sawicki 2nd / Jace Waldmann 3rd / Teller Junak 2nd / Wes Snyder 4th / Joe Tyo 3rd. Great day for the Monarch Wrestling team!!! On a side note- Anthony Lepine, at his first varsity tournament, was one round away from a medal.
JV @ Thompson Valley Invite- Sounds like the JV had a pretty good day as well. The TVHS Invite is a tuff JV tournament... and we brought home four medals. Landon Alm 3rd / Sam Lehman 2nd / Corbin Feenstra 2nd / Josh Hurst 4th.
We still have a lot to work on... but the guys are improving quickly. Next up we are at Golden HS on Thursday for a dual. Next Saturday Varsity is in Sutherland, NE and JV is at the Pomona Invite. Great weekend guys!

JV is back at Thompson Valley this weekend. This will be a double elimination tournament. Bus leaves at 6am. Be at school at 5:45am. For more info see the info sheet under the handout tab.

Thursday, December 17
Tonight we dual at Golden HS (weigh-ins @ 5pm / JV @ 6pm / Varsity @ 7pm). Be at school at 4pm... bus leaves at 4:15.
JV- Will have practice on Friday at regular time (3:30pm). Saturday JV is at the Pomona High School Invite. Be at school by 6:15am Saturday morning, the bus leaves at 6:30am. Weigh-ins are at 7am, wrestling starts at 9am. Bring food for after weigh-ins, and throughout the day. This should be a great tournament for our JV team, good luck guys!
Varsity- We will head out for Nebraska after your last final tomorrow (hopefully we are on the road by 11am). I will meet you at school Friday morning so you can put your bags in the wrestling room, and then go take your last final. We are staying the night in Ogallala, NE on Friday night. We will practcie at the high school on Friday afternoon. We will take the wrestlers who can eat out to dinner on Friday night (so bring some money for that). Your hotel room is paid for. Saturday morning we will drive to Sutherland, NE for our tournament (20 min drive). Bring food for after weigh-ins, and throughout the day. Jim and Jessica Abeyta have been kind enough to have a team cooler at the tournament on Saturday, so some snacks will be provided by them!!! We will be back at school late Saturday night.
