MO. ROCKETS GO 2-2 IN GATEWAY CHALLENGE
 THE MO. ROCKETS PLAYED IN THE ALWAYS TOUGH GATEWAY CHALLLENGE IN ST. LOUIS, THE ROCKETS OPENED WITH A REALLY TOUGH 48-45 WIN, THE GAME WAS CLOSE ALL THE WAY AND THE ROCKETS PULLED OUT A REALLY GOOD WIN, GRACE GETTEMEIER LED THE WAY WITH 15 PTS., LIZ BEHAN & ASHLEY ERNSTMEYER EACH HAD 10 PTS., JILLIAN LOCKARD HAD 9 PTS.. UP NEXT WAS A TOUGH TEAM IN THE SOUTHEAST DYNASTY, ROCKETS LOSS A CLOSE GAME 56-51, GOT BEHIND AND JUST KEPT COMING BACK, JUST FELL A LITTLE SHORT. GETTEMEIER HAD A HUGE GAME WITH 23 PTS. HITTING 7 THREES, LIZ BEHAN ADDED 12 PTS. & ERNSTMEYER HAD 11 PTS.. THOUGHT WE REALLY PLAYED GOOD AGAINST A GOOD TEAM. UP NEXT THE ILLINOIS JEMBS, THE ROCKETS LOST A TOUGH GAME 48-47, LOSING MOST OF THE GAME, TOOK A 3 POINT LEAD LATE, BUT JUST COULDN'T HOLD IT. GETTEMEIER WITH 21, WITH 6 THREES, BEHAN 10, AND MADDIE KING ADDED 7 PTS.. IN THE ROCKETS 4TH AND FINAL GAME THE ROCKETS ROLLED AND WON BY 2O, GETTEMEIER LED THE WAY WITH 17 PTS.. REALLY GOOD TOURNAMENT FOR THE GIRLS PLAYED IN A REALLY TOUGH POOL AND I THINK LEARNED A LOT AND ARE GETTING MUCH BETTER EVERY WEEK AND LEARNING WE HAVE TO HAVE THE EFFORT ON BOTH ENDS. GRACE GETTEMEIER HAD A SPECIAL TOURNAMENT HITTING 21 THREES IN THE FOUR GAMES AND BEING NAMED TO THE TOURNAMENT ALL-STAR TEAM. GREAT JOB TO ALL THE GIRLS

MO. ROCKETS 8TH GRADE GOES 1-3 IN GATEWAY CHALLENGE

   THE MO. ROCKETS 8TH GRADE PLAYED IN THE TOUGH GATEWAY CHALLENGE TOURNAMENT, REALLY SHOWED IMPROVEMENT. THE ROCKETS WON THEIR FIRST GAME 42-27 OVER THE ILLINOIS JEMS, MAYA WIDEMANN WITH A BIG GAME WITH 15 PTS., CARAGAN LOCKARD ADDED 6 PTS., RENEE FINKE HAD 5 PTS., WHAT A WAY TO START THE TOURNAMENT,.BUT AS YOU FIND OUT IN A HURRY THIS IS A REALLY TOUGH TOURNAMENT AND WE FOUND OUT FIRST HAND IN THE NEXT GAME AGAINST THE OKLAHOMA THUNDER LOSING AND ONLY SCORING 9 PTS., FINKE HAD 4 PTS.. UP NEXT ANOTHER REALLY GOOD TEAM IN THE LADY SPIRITS LOSING AND AGAIN JUST STRUGGLING TO SCORE, LOSING 43-8,. IN THE ROCKETS FINAL GAME ON SUNDAY  ROCKETS PLAYED REALLY GOOD LOSING 35-30, BUT PLAYING SO MUCH BETTER, LOGAN HALL & KAYLYN TOWERS LED THE SCORING WITH 6 PTS. EACH, WIDEMANN ADDED 5 PTS. CONGRATS TO LEAH SHANKS & BRYSTAL JONES AS THEY WERE NAMED TO THE POOL ALL STAR TEAM. GIRLS YOU'RE GETTING MUCH BETTER, KEEP WORKING HARD, THINGS ARE GETTING BETTER . GREAT JOB

MO. ROCKETS 16U GOES 2-1 IN ST. LOUIS
  THE MO. ROCKETS 16U TEAM WENT 2-1 IN TOURNAMENT IN ST. LOUIS, PLAYED PRETTY WELL GIRLS STARTING TO GET USE TO EACH OTHER. IN THE ROCKETS 1ST GAME THE ROCKETS WON EASILY OVER THE ST. LOUIS SHOOTING STARS 44-23, JILLIAN LOCKARD WITH 12 PTS., GRACE GETTEMEIER WITH 11, LIZ BEHAN ADDED 8, AND ANNA HENKE HAD 7 PTS. FOR A BALANCED SCORING ATTACK. UP NEXT WAS A TOUGH ST. LOUIS UNITED THE ROCKETS LED ALMOST THE ENTIRE GAME BUT GOT OUTSCORED 10-0 TO END THE GAME AND LOST A TOUGH ONE 39-37, GETTEMEIER WITH 13, BEHAN & LOCKARD EACH ADDED 8 PTS..  IN THE ROCKETS 3RD GAME THEY DEFEATED ST. LOUIS BLUE STAR (DUFF) 43-26, HENKE HAD 11 PTS., GETTEMEIER ADDED 10 PTS., BEHAN ADDED 8 PTS.. GOOD TOURNAMENT FOR THE GIRLS TO PREPARE FOR GATEWAY CHALLENGE TOURNAMENT.

    THE MO. ROCKETS 8TH GRADE WENT 0-3 IN ANOTHER REALLY TOUGH TOURNAMENT FOR THEM, BUT PLAYED MUCH BETTER. IN THEIR FIRST GAME THE ROCKETS LOST TO MIDWEST SELECT 32-19, MAYA WIDEMANN LED THE WAY WITH 11 PTS., UP NEXT FOR THE ROCKETS WERE THE ST. LOUIS ROCKETS, LOSING 44-19, TAYLOR AKERS LED THE WAY WITH 6 PTS., WIDEMANN ADDED 5 PTS., JUST DON'T PLAY WELL AGAINST THIS TEAM. UP NEXT A VERY GOOD TEAM ST. LOUIS LOST 44-24, A HORRIBLE FIRST HALF ONLY SCORING 7 PTS., BUT PLAYED SO MUCH BETTER IN THE 2ND HALF, AKERS AGAIN LED THE SCORING WITH 7 PTS. REALLY PLAYED MUCH BETTER IN THIS TOURNAMENT, WE ARE GETTING THERE KEEP WORKING GIRLS.

  THE MO. ROCKETS 16U TEAM WENT 2-2 IN AMES, IA., IN THE BE THE BEST TOURNAMENT, IT WAS THE FIRST TOURNAMENT FOR THE ROCKETS AGAINST REALLY SOLID COMPETITION. IN THE ROCKETS FIRST GAME THEY LOST TO THE WISCONSIN PLAYMAKERS 58-36, DON'T THINK WE WERE READY FOR THE SPEED AND PHYSICAL PLAY, GRACE GETTEMEIER, LIZ BEHAN, AND JILLIAN LOCKARD LED THE SCORING WITH 8 PTS. EACH. UP NEXT A MUCH BETTER TEAM INTHE ALL IOWA ATTACK, ROCKETS ACTUALLY PLAYED BETTER BUT LOST 56-32, GETTEMEIER LED THE WAY WITH 11 PTS.. IN THE ROCKETS 3RD GAME THEY WON 43-29, PLAYING A WEAKER TEAM, BUT PLAYING BETTER ALSO GETTEMEIER WITH A BIG GAME WITH 17 PTS., INCLUDING 5 THREES, BEHAN ADDED 8 PTS., AND MADDIE KING HAD 7 PTS.. AND IN THEIR 4TH AND FINAL GAME THE ROCKETS DEFEATED THE ILLINOIS ENERGY 47-41, IN A REALLY GOOD GAME, AS THE ROCKETS BUILT A 15 POINT LEAD, THEN FELL BEHIND BY 2, BUT CLOSED ON A GOOD RUN TO WIN THE GAME, A REALLY GOOD GAME TO END ON. GETTEMEIER & BEHAN HAD 13 PTS. EACH, AND KING ADDED 8 PTS. FOR OUR 1ST TOURNAMENT OF THIS CALIBER AND PLAYING UP IN AGE GROUP THOUGHT WE DID ALRIGHT, GOT BETTER AND THATS WHAT COUNTS.   THE MO. ROCKETS 8TH GRADE TEAM COMPETED IN AMES, IA. IN THE BE THE BEST TOURNAMENT. REALLY A TOUGH TOURNAMENT IN THE 8TH GRADE DIVISION, IN THE ROCKETS OPENER LOST TO THE IOWA EXPRESS 56-32, ROCKETS JUST RAN INTO A GOOD TEAM AND WE HAVE TO GET USE TO THIS KIND OF COMPITITION. LEAH SHANKS LED THE SCORING WITH 10 PTS., TAYLOR AKERS ADDED 9, CARAGON LOCKARD ADDED 5 PTS.. IN THE ROCKETS 2ND GAME THE ROCKETS PLAYED THE STORM AND THEY WERE A REALLY GOOD TEAM, WE HUNG IN FOR THE 1ST HALF AND WERE ONLY DOWN 24-13, BUT THE WE STRUGGLED TO SCORE AND THE GAME GOT AWAY FROM US LOSING 59-22, MAYA WIDEMANN LED THE SCORING WITH 9 PTS.. IN THE ROCKET 3RD GAME THE ROCKETS LOST TO THE FURY, ONCE AGAIN WAS IN THE GAME EARLY BUT LET IT GET AWAY IN THE 2ND HALF. KAYLYN TOWERS LED THE SCORING WITH 8 PTS. AKERS, LOCKARD, AND WIDEMANN EACH ADDED 5 PTS.. IN THE ROCKETS 4TH AND FINAL GAME THE ROCKETS HAD TO PLAY THE EXPRESS AGAIN LOSING ONCE AGAIN, STRUGGLED TO SCORE IN THE GAME, ONLY SCORING 18 PTS.,  OVERALL FOR THE TOURNAMENT I THINK THE GIRLS WERE IN THE GAMES FOR A HALF AND THEN LET IT GET AWAY, WE NEED TO LEARN TO PLAY 2 HALVES NOT 1 AND WHEN THINGS GET TOUGH YOU CAN'T QUITE MOST LEARN TO PLAY HARD THE ENTIRE GAME. REMEMBER GIRLS WE CAN STAY AROUND HERE AND PLAY SCHOOL TEAMS AND NOT GET ANY BETTER OR PLAY GOOD TEAMS AND IMPROVE, DON'T GET ANY BETTER BY NOT PLAYING ANYBODY. GOOD WEEKEND GIRLS

MO. ROCKETS H.S TEAM WINS CHAMPIONSHIP IN TROY
    THE MO. ROCKETS 16U TEAM CAPTURED THE CHAMPIONSHIP IN TROY GOING 3-0, ROCKETS OPENED WITH A 39-25 WIN OVER THE MISSOURI MAVERICKS, THE ROCKETS WERE LED IN SCORING BY GRACE GETTEMEIER & ANNA HENKE EACH WITH 9 POINTS, JILLIAN LOCKARD ADDED 7 PTS., THE ROCKETS CONNECTED ON 6 THREES.  IN THEIR 2ND GAME THE ROCKETS PLAYED THE MISSOURI THUNDER AND THE ROCKETS JUMPED OUT TO A 27-6 LEAD, BY PLAYING GREAT DEFENSE, THE ROCKETS ENDED UP WINNING THE GAME 47-29. GETTEMEIER LED THE WAY WITH 12 PTS., MADDIE KING & ASHLEY ERNSTMEYER EACH ADDED 8 PTS.. IN THE ROCKETS 3RD AND FINAL GAME THEY BLEW OUT THE MID MO. SHOOTERS 56-19, JILLIAN LOCKARD LED THE SCORING WITH 14 PTS., HENKE & CAYLYN LOCKARD EACH ADDED 9 PTS., LEXI FREDERICK & ERNSTMEYER EACH HAD 7 PTS., GOOD WEEKEND FOR THE GIRLS, A GOOD TOURNAMENT FOR THE GIRLS TO GET USE TO PLAYING TOGETHER, GOOD JOB GIRLS. NEXT UP "BE THE BEST" TOURNAMENT IN AMES, IA., VERY STRONG TOURNAMENT,HOPEFULLY ANOTHER GOOD WEEKEND FOR THE ROCKETS.

   THE MO. ROCKETS 8TH GRADE WENT 3-1, TO TAKE HOME 2ND PLACE IN TROY, PLAYED THE FIRST DAY WITH ONLY 5 GIRLS, BECAUSE OF TRACK CONFLICTS, PLAYED GREAT. OPENED THE TOURNAMENT WITH A VERY TOUGH 31-29 LOSE TO TEAM SELECT, AFTER LEADING THE WHOLE GAME, TAYLOR AKERS & MAYA WIDEMAN LED THE SCORING WITH 8 PTS. EACH, CAYLIN TOWERS ADDED 7 PTS., NEXT UP WAS THE MID MO. SHOOTERS AND THE ROCKETS PREVAILED 43-36, PLAYED ANOTHER REALLY GOOD GAME, WIDEMAN WITH A BIG GAME WITH 15 PTS., TOWERS ADDED 12 PTS., AND MACIE WITTHAUS ADDED 11 PTS., GOOD WIN. ON SUNDAY THE ROCKETS OPENED THE DAY WITH AN EXCITING 30-29 WIN OVER ELSBERRY, THE ROCKETS LED ALMOST THE ENTIRE GAME AND BY 7 LATE, BUT GAVE UP A COUPLE OF THREES, TURNED THE BALL OVER AND MISSED FREE THROWS, SET THE STAGE FOR AN INCREDIBLE ENDING, WITH 10.5 SECONDS LEFT ELSBERRY HIT A SHOT TO TAKE THE LEAD, ROCKETS INBOUNDED THE BALL AND AKERS HIT A 15' RUNNER WITH 2 SECONDS LEFT TO WIN THE GAME. LEAH SHANKS LED THE WAY WITH 8 PTS., WIDEMAN HAD 7 PTS., AKERS ADDED 6, GREAT GAME. IN THEIR 4TH AND FINAL GAME THE ROCKETS BLASTED THE CRUSADERS 52-21, HITTING 9 THREES INTHE GAME. SHANKS WITH A HUGE GAME 4 THREES AND 16 PTS., AKERS WITH 10, AND WIDEMAN ANOTHER GOOD GAME ALSO HAD 10, CARAGAN LOCKARD ADDED 9 PTS.
