MEGAN JENSEN SIGNS WITH MCKENDREE UNIVERSITY

MEGAN JENSEN (BORGIA) HAS DECIDED TO CONTINUE HER BASKETBALL CAREER AT MCKENDREE UNIVERSITY IN LEBANON, IL.. MEGAN HAS PLAYED WITH THE ROCKETS SINCE 6TH GRADE, SHE HAS IMPROVED EVERY YEAR. MEGAN HAS WORKED SO HARD TO FULFILL HER DREAM OF PLAYING COLLEGE BASKETBALL AND IT HAS PAID OFF. A 6'0 POST PLAYER MEGAN HAS BECOME A VERY GOOD REBOUNDER AND THIS SUMMER IMPROVED HER SCORING ALSO. COACH BROADWAY AT MCKENDREE SAID SHE EXPECTS MEGAN TO HELP IN HER FRESHMAN YEAR. MEGAN HAS BEEN SUCH A STABLE PLAYER ON A REALLY GOOD ROCKETS TEAM FOR YEARS, AND THIS SUMMER WITH A FEW CHANGES IN PLAYERS SHE REALLY STEPPED UP ON BOTH ENDS OF THE COURT AND AS A TEAM LEADER. MEGAN WILL BE REALLY MISSED IN THE PROGRAM, BECAUSE SHE IS THE TYPE OF PLAYER WE ARE LOOKING FOR, HOPEFULLY WE CAN GET  MEGAN TO HELP OUT AT PRACTICE AT TIMES. GREAT CAREER MEGAN GOING TO MISS YOU, AND ALSO YOUR FAMILY, ALWAYS READY TO GO ANYWHERE TO PLAY. CONCRATS TO THE ENTIRE JENSEN FAMILY.

RACHEL FICK COMMITS TO COLUMBIA COLLEGE
RACHEL FICK BECAME THE FIRST ON OUR 2016 CLASS TO VERBALLY COMMIT TO A COLLEGE AS RACHEL COMMITTED TO COLUMBIA COLLEGE. I DON'T KNOW IF WHEN RACHEL STARTED PLAYING WITH US IN 5TH GRADE SHE THOUGHT THIS WOULD EVER HAPPEN, RACHEL HAS COME A LONG WAY AS A PLAYER. WHEN SHE FIRST STARTED PLAYING SHE WAS TALL, A REALLY GOOD THING, BUT SHE WAS REALLY GOOD ON DEFENSE, AND IN THE LAST 4 YEARS OR SO HER OFFENSE HAS REALLY COME AROUND. RACHEL'S HEIGHT, LONG ARMS, AND ATHLETIC ABILITY FOR BEING 6' TALL WERE HER BIG DRAW FOR COACHES. RACHEL HAS WORKED REALLY HARD TO ACHIEVE HER GOAL OF PLAYING BASKETBALL IN COLLEGE, SHE HAS DONE WHAT A LOT OF GIRLS HAVE DONE THAT HAVE PLAYED FOR THE ROCKETS AND WENT ON TO COLLEGE, THEY PLAY AS A TEAM, THEY LISTEN TO COACHES, THEY PLAY REALLY HARD, AND THEY HAVE PLAYED SEVERAL YEARS WITH THE ROCKETS. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK BECKY SCHNEIDER FOR ALL THE WORK SHE HAS DONE WITH RACHEL AND THIS TEAM I KNOW SOMETIMES ITS BEEN TOUGH LOVE, BUT YOU WILL ALL APPRECIATE IT IN THE END. RACHEL HAD NUMEROUS OFFERS FROM D-2 SCHOOLS SUCH AS DRURY, MCKENDREE, TRUMAN ST. MARYVILLE, ETC. ALSO D-1 SEMO WAS VERY INTERESTED, MAYBE RACHEL COULD HAVE WENT TO A LARGER COLLEGE, BUT SHES GOING A VERY GOOD BASKETBALL PROGRAM AT COLUMBIA COLLEGE,ALWAYS IN NATIONAL TOURNAMENT, SHE LOVED THE CAMPUS ON HER VISIT & REALLY LIKED COACH KELLER AT CC, COACH KELLER SAID RACHEL WAS THEIR NUMBER 1 RECRUIT FOR THE 2016 CLASS AND THEY WERE SO HAPPY TO GET A PLAYER OF RACHEL'S ABILITY AND THE KIND OF PERSON RACHEL IS AS A STUDENT ATHLETE, COACH KELLER SAID RACHEL SHOULD SEE LOTS OF PLAYING TIME HER FRESHMAN YEAR AND THEY EXPECT BIG THINGS FROM HER IN COMING YEARS. RACHEL JOINS FORMER ROCKET PLAYER HANNAH SUTTON WHO WILL BE A FRESHMAN AT COLUMBIA COLLEGE THIS YEAR. GREAT JOB RACHEL SO PROUD OF YOU AND YOU'VE MADE THE ROCKET PROGRAM BETTER BECAUSE OF PLAYERS LIKE YOU, YOU WILL BE MISSED, HOPEFULLY YOU WILL COME BACK AT TIMES AND HELP OUT YOUNGER ROCKET PLAYERS. RACHEL WILL BE THE FIRST OF MANY ON OUR 17U TEAM TO PLAY IN COLLEGE VERY GOOD GROUP OF GIRLS.
