2010 TRY-OUTS:

Try-outs for our 16u team are TBD.  There is no fee for try-outs.  To register please email Shannon at mnfinishers@yahoo.com with player's name, grade, height, position, school and contact info.

* The team fee for the Finishers is $500 which includes uniforms, practice time and tournament fees.  Families are responsible for all travel expenses.  We will be playing in the major Minnesota AAU tournaments as well as exposure tournaments around the midwest.

Our Mission

The Minnesota Finishers Girl's Basketball program was started by Minneapolis native Shannon Finis in hopes to expand opportunities for girls to play at a higher level.  The first and foremost goal of the Minnesota Finishers is to provide a positive experience through basketball.  We hope to inspire our girls to follow their dreams in basketball, school and life by improving their skills on the floor, making sure they get it done in the classroom and building confidence in their game and in themselves.  Our philosophy is that BASKETBALL is LIFE.  There are so many aspects of daily life involved in this simple game and we want our girls to learn the important lessons basketball has to offer.  Basketball can literally take you anywhere!

2009 schedule:

We are beginning our second season this summer and very excited about our new and returning players!  With a little experience under our belt from last season we expect to have a very successful summer!  Returning and leading the team for us are two of the best post players in the state, Britta Syverson (MPLS SW) and Mallory Cramer (MPLS SOUTH) with the help of guard Laura Maltby (MPLS SW).  These girls will not only provide our team with experience, talent and strong work ethic, but they will be a huge asset to our younger players joining the program this year!

APRIL:
 24-25 Midwest Elite Showcase LaCrosse, WI- 4th Place 
MAY:
 2-3 MYAS- Armstrong- 1st Place
16-17 MYAS Spring Championships- Forest Lake- 1st Place 
23-24- Coral Springs, Florida -2nd Place 
JUNE:
19-21 AAU Battle on the Hardwood 11th place
26-28- Great Lakes Shootout Menomonie, WI 3rd place
JULY:
5-8 USJN- Cincinnati Ohio- 1st Place

PERSONAL TRAINING BEGINS FALL 2009
Looking to improve your skills? Do you want to get faster and stronger?  Then you need to get into the gym!!!  Each player will work individually with a program designed to fit their needs.  **Strength and conditioning programs depend on the age of the player.  Sessions cost $35/hr.  For more info email Shannon at mnfinishers@yahoo.com
