Looked & Sounded Like OU Saturday, But a Win is a Win!
Think about this quote from OU's, $2,000,000 Man, Bob Stoops, following his team opening up a comfortable lead against the Kansas State Wildcats today, only to win the game at the wire 38-37.
"We found a way to make enough plays to win the football game, and that's special,'' coach Bob Stoops said. "We're not concerned around here whether we win 13-2 or 50-49 or 38-37. Whatever it takes, find a way to win.''
How about a quote from Jenk's own Rocky Calmus.
"They switched some things up and tried some new things,'' Oklahoma linebacker Rocky Calmus said. "We just gave up a lot of big plays and had too many mental breakdowns on defense.''
The OU quotes sound very familiar to the Mighty Maroon's game today with the Coweta Tigers. I can only imagine the looks on our faces as a 24-0 lead shrank to only four points late in the fourth quarter. The Mighty Maroon Team implemented the Coweta game plan perfectly for three quarters however, the coaching staff, including me, showed that we still have room to improve our coaching as a team to finish up strong. Thank goodness that we are not paid millions of dollars to coach games for a living. Look for the Mighty Maroon Coaching Staff to work together, learn from their mistakes and once again develop and implement another great game plan next week with the Mighty Maroon.
