A big congratulations to both Karen Kirker (Rhinebeck) and Ari Darcy (Kingston) who were just named to the NYS All-State Team. Both are members of the Rebels U18 Blue team.
Karen landed on the Class B third team thanks to a .337 average and .463 slugging percentage. She had 32 hits-including 10 doubles and a triple - to go with 15 RBI's and 15 runs scored.
Ari meanwhile landed on the Class AA fourth team. Ari was the catalyst as the leadoff hitter for the Kingston team that finished 15-5 and reached the Section 9, 99, Class AA title game. Darcy Named to Middletown Record First Team
Congrats to Ari Darcy (Kingston '11/Rebels U18 Blue) for being named again to the Record First Team. The article from the paper read:
School: Kingston
Position: Outfielder
Grade: Senior
The numbers: The repeat first-teamer hit .500 with three doubles, two homers, five triples, 16 RBI, 16 stolen bases and 23 runs; Darcy didn't make an error in center field.
The highlight: “Playing Pine Bush at home for our Senior Night. It was probably the best game (Kingston third baseman) Casey (Chapman) and I played together. We won, which was good, too.”
The future: Darcy will join former teammate Ali Ferraro, a shortstop, at Division II University of Massachusetts-Lowell next year.
The player: “Ariana is probably the best player I ever coached. I've had good players, but her work ethic is something. Ariana just gets down and dirty. She just goes out and plays hard for the team.” – Kingston coach Brian Mills
Congrats Ari!!
