November 22, 2008 - 10 hard weeks of football! What a commitment!Parents, do you remember braving those long practice nights, early morning games, the pouring rain and freezing temperatures? All of that hard work sent all five of the Metropolitan Wolverines squads to the play-offs and two of our squads to the PVAAU Championship Games.
On Saturday, November 22 the Metropolitan Wolverines 8u & 10u played in their respective PVAAU Championship games.Both squads were defending their 2007 PVAAU Championship titles.First on deck was the undefeated Metropolitan Wolverines 8u squad squaring off against the Tacoma Park Rams 8u. The Metropolitan Wolverines 8u was unstoppable, racking up 33 unanswered points!The Metropolitan Wolverines organization would like to congratulate the 8u Coaching Staff - Head Coach Bobby Jackson, Assistant Coaches Damien Calhoun, Jerome Williams & Vincent (Fatz) Moore.The entire 8u Squad, the 8u parents and fans get a standing ovation with a special shout out to the 8u Championship Games’ M.V.P. - Kendall Brooks.Way to go 8u, what a perfect way to end the perfect season!
Directly following the 8u victory, the Metropolitan Wolverines’ 10u squad faced their cross-town rivals, The Kingman Green Machine 10u.Both teams played well but the Wolverines “came to work” and ended the day with a 19 - 6 victory!Congratulations go out to the 10u Coaching Staff – Head Coach Kevin Jackson, Assistant Coaches Darren Buchanan, Lawrence Whittaker & King Watts. The entire 10u squad, parents and fans get a, “Way to Go!,” with a special shout out to the 10u Championship Games’ M.V.P. - DeShawn (Choppa) Greene.
