BRAVO!!! I WHOLE HEARTEDLY AGREE JOE , I can promise you this, things will the way they should be in 2010 and hopefully the people that stick around will be the ones to play with pride and become a real TEAM like it was back when we had Dish, Tony, Chip, Debo, Scottie, and so many others that knew that on their right or on their left were the men they could count on at any given time. I can't wait to get that back! And we will. Wish you were here.

History is repeating itself

1995 Capitaland Thunder is born
1996 Capitaland Thunder makes playoffs
1997 Capitalnd Thunder goes to the EFL Chip
1998 Capitaland Thunder starts to fall

And by end of 2003 there was nothing left.

I was coaching in 2002 and 2003. One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was playing the players that wouldn't come to practice. Why you might ask? Because I was blinded by the will to win. I wanted the best players on the field. It wasn't long before the second teamers quit or went to another team. These were the guys that did come to practice, but weren't as talented as the starters. I WAS WRONG FOR DOING THAT!

Before you knew it 8-10 players were coming to practice behind Albany High School. Couldn't do anything with those numbers. The starters knew they were going to play because as coaches and as an organization WE HAD TO meet our league schedule. Now that there were no second teamers or thirds they had us over a barrel and they new it. Me and Luke were sick. I even stopped going to the away games (shouldn't have did that to Luke, but I was agitated). Slowly but surely the Capitland Thunder would crumble.

This is why I made everybody come to practice in 2004, 2005 when I was GM of the Mallers. If you didn't come to practice you didn't play. I knew the Mallers would face the same fate if players were allowed to not come to pratice. Not to mention you can never win consistantly against the big teams.

The day Chris Brown, Luke Posniewski and Frank Rogers told me at the picnic table (June of 2006) that my way was to stringent, was the day I knew the hour glass would be tipped and it wouldn't be long before I would resign. They also were blinded by will to win. Happens to the best of us. One can only hope that the administration and coaches do not allow this critical mistake to continue.

Anyway here we are today. I hope someone steps up to the plate and gets the Mallers back on track before it's to late. If you only play .500 football so be it, but at least your program will have integrity and will be around for all young players to come through the Maller program.
