We hope that the MGSL season is being enjoyed by all, so far.
The following comments are a response to several emails in all divisions.
“Exhibition teams” in 2009 in the MGSL are eligible for playoffs. Or, being an “Exhibition Team” does not exclude your team from any MGSL activities, games or scheduling.
The Exhibition label has been used at least since the 2006 season and perhaps even sooner. In the first season, Exhibition teams were not permitted in the playoffs. Before the Ex label was created there were rules that governed players by home address, school, did they have a summer program, etc. Things got very difficult to manage. The Ex label made things a great deal easier to manage.
Please remember our Philosophy – The MGSL exists so that an additional 1500+ girls can play travel softball.
Rosters – As of July first rosters are frozen - What does this really mean?
Your playoff roster cannot be added to. You need to submit an updated roster or confirm that the first one is unchanged. New players can be added to your roster to meet MGSL requirements if you are short for regular season games. Adding players for the sake of adding to the roster is not suggested.
