Congrats to Alex, Bri, Chelsea, Jenny, Leanne, Ryan, and Sarah S, along with Amanda (u15 Rapids) and Katie (Ohio Galaxies FC), for advancing to the semi-finals in the 6v6 Holiday Tournament at Englewood Indoor Soccer. Faced with adversity from game 1 on, the Rapids fought hard, maintained composure, and displayed the definition of sportsmanship throughout. Congrats ladies on a tough job well done!!!

Briana, Kelly, and Rachel H., along with Michelle (CUP Red) and Rosie (OGFC Elite), became the 3v3 Live National Champions on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Kings Island. Again playing up in the u16 bracket, the girls went 4-0 to capture the National title, outscoring their opponents 32-10. With this win, the girls now qualify for the Western Finals in Las Vegas in January 2009. Although hot and humid, it was a great day of fun-filled soccer. Good job ladies!!!

Five Metro FC Rapids 92 players participated in the 3v3 Live Soccer Tournament in Cincinnati on June 28-29, 2008. After dominating the girls high school bracket in Dayton the previous weekend, the Rapids were forced to move to the boys high school bracket in Cincinnati. After a rocky start, loosing to a u16 boys team from Nashville, TN (who were last year's National Finalists), the Rapids bounced back to win their next three games. Ending with a 3-1 record, the Rapids were crowned the Cincinnati Area boys high school division 3v3 Live Champs. With this win, the Rapids become the only team to qualify for Nationals in both the boys and girls high school divisions. Way to go Metro! Good job ladies.

Five Metro FC Rapids 92 players participated in an exciting day of soccer at the 3v3 Live tournament held at Ankeney Soccer Complex on June 21, 2008. Playing up in the u16 division, the Rapids went 4-0 (outscoring their opponents 32-11) to become the u16 Champs. With this victory, the team will now move on to compete in the July 3v3 Live Summer Nationals held at Kings Island. Congrats ladies on a great day of soccer!!!

Metro goes 3-2 in the Wolfpack MLK 6v6 tournament and end up as tournament finalists. The Rapids lost the first game 2-1 to a Wolfpack A team that even their coach admitted to stacking for tournament purposes. The girls played hard leaving the Wolfpack coach wondering if he should have done a better job hand picking players. Game two pitted the Rapids against a much older Northmont HS team. Again the girls played solid, pulling out a 5-3 victory over the high school varsity team. In game three, the Rapids faced a struggling Tipp City team. Displaying great teamwork, Metro skated to a 6-0 win. This win moved the Rapids into the semi-finals against the Wolfpack B team. Again, facing another hand picked team with different "fresh" girls showing up for each game, the Rapids knew a strong performance would be needed in order to move into the finals. A strong performance is what we got, as Metro "upset" the tournament hosting B team with a 2-1 victory. This win placed the Rapids in the finals against the team that defeated them in game one, the other Wolfpack team. Forced to play the semi-finals and finals back to back, a very tired Metro team fought hard, only to end up short in the finals with a 3-1 loss. Overall, it was a great day of soccer fun and much needed conditioning. Finally, we would like to extend a special thanks to Amanda, Melanie, and Sarah for spending the day to play soccer with us.

7 Rapids players enjoyed a day of soccer playing in the Wolfpack Soccer Club's 6v6 Holiday Tournament at Englewood Indoor. Competing in the HS bracket, the 7 Rapids found themselves up against 12 woman teams made of U17 and U18 players. The girls displayed great teamwork and a "never quit" attitude, even when forced to play back to back games. Never loosing by more than 2 goals, the girls worked well together, improving every game. They even captured a victory over the Eaton High School Varsity team. The tournament was only for fun and exercise with emphasis on the exercise part. 

Way to go girls!!!
