2009 Football Yearbooks Are Now Available
The 2009 Mesick Bulldog Football Yearbook is now available for purchase. It is available free to all members of the Orange & Black Club or can be purchased seperately for $7.00. Supplies are limited. Please contact Coach Freet or Charles Pechota for your copy today.

Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to help videotape games for the program this season. We are looking for a Varsity parent to film JV games and a JV parent to film Varsity games. If you or someone you know would be interested in filming one or more games please contact Coach Freet.

Now Accepting Orange & Black Club Memberships

The Orange & Black Club is looking to accept members for the 2009 season. There are two levels of membership for families and businesses. Please see the following handout regarding the benefits of belonging to the primary support group for the Mesick Football Family. While August 25th is the deadline for inclusion in the media guide/yearbook, you can still join later and enjoy all other benefits.

The 2009 Powerlifting Season Off To Great Start

The Bulldog Powerlifting Team started the season out strong as they attended the Regional Qualifying Meet at Traverse City West High School on Saturday, February 28th. With limited numbers, the team was able to take 5th Place out of 12 teams.

A total of four high school lifters qualified for the State Powerlifting Finals:

Matt Killingbeck - 1st Place 242 LB Division Varsity

450 lb Squat   295 lb Bench     460 lb Deadlift     1205 Total Lbs

 

Kenny Bacchus - 2nd Place 165 LB Division Varsity

370 lb Squat     245 lb Bench     405 lb Deadlift     1020 Total Lbs

 

Erik Pechota - Qualified By Total Weight 165 LB Division Varsity

365 lb Squat     200 lb Bench     425 lb Deadlift     990 Total Lbs

 

Zach Fessenden - 2nd Place 145 LB Division JV

240 lb Squat     175 lb Bench     300 lb Deadlift     715 Total Lbs

 

Three Middle School lifters also made a great showing at the event:

Connor Fitzpatrick - 1st Place & Top Lifter Overall For Middle School Division

250 lb Squat     175 lb Bench     290 lb Deadlift     715 Total Lbs

 

Austin Corbett - 2nd Place Overall For Middle School Division

Doug Lanning - 2nd Place Middle School Lightweight Division

2009 Mesick Powerlifting State Finals Results

The Mesick Power lifting team took part in the State tournament this weekend at Whitmore Lake High School and had three of the five lifters place in the top 10 in the state.

Matt Killingbeck- 4th place Varsity 242 Lbs Division
Kenny Bacchus- 5th place Varsity 165 Lbs Division
Mike Riojas- 6th place JV 155 Lbs Division
Mike Riojas also has Set a State record in deadlift for his class,with a lift of 420 pounds.
Erik Pechota and Zach Fessenden also took part and finished in the top 15 in the state. Erik and Zach also set personal records. Erik had a  dead lift of 450. Zach set two personal records for himself as well.
