The Medina Makos are a USA Club Swim Team that swims year round out of the MCRC.

Samantha Petruzzi age 14 of the Medina Makos Swim Team competed in the Central Zones Championship meet in Indianapolis Indiana at the IUPUI Natatorium August 5th-7th. Teams from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Lake Erie, Michigan and Ohio competed in the event. Swimmers must have achieved AAA National times to qualify for the meet.

Samantha competed in the 50, 100, 200 and 400 Freestyle along with the 100 and 200 Butterfly. She also competed in two relays. Samantha’s best finish was 8th overall in the 200 Butterfly.

Samantha swims for the Medina Makos Swim Team which trains out of the MCRC. Samantha will be a sophomore at Medina High School this fall. 

We ask all our parents to volunteer during the swim meets that are hosted by the Makos.

I am happy to announce that we will be joining forces with Brian Lebo. Brian is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He currently works with several grade school, middle school, high school, and collegiate athletes and teams, as strength training and conditioning “coach” and consultant, as well as serving as strength training and conditioning coach/consultant to the North Royalton High School Basketball program.

Brian will be a consultant for us helping develop strength and conditioning programs for our yellow and senior groups.

On Sunday May 1^st Lake Erie Swimming once again awarded the Makos the 11 & over meet for 1/22/2012.   

Coach Anthony has been named the Head Coach of the Lake Erie Zone team that will compete August 5^th-7^th at IUPUI Natatorium in Indiana.
