Medford National Little League: MNLL News

Become A 2010 Sponsor
We are a non-profit league supporting 13 fields on 35 acres. Each year we rely exclusively on volunteers to maintain the fields and run the league. Our operating expenses each season exceed $40,000. Our budget must cover the following areas: utilities, building maintenance, uniforms, equipment, insurance, Little League dues, scholarships, and field maintenance. Our income consists of sign up fees, fundraisers, concession stand proceeds and sponsorships from businesses.

With our sponsors’ financial assistance, Medford National Little League has operated at our current location in West Medford for 33 years! It is a wonderful opportunity to invest in the future of our children.

If you have any questions, or want further information on how you can help our Little League, please email us at: info@medfordnationallittleleague.com.

Thanks

Bat & Ball Line
New Little League Baseball Bat Rules
ATTENTION PARENTS!
Effective for the 2009 season: In addition to the Little League bat requirements already in place, all non-wood bats used in Little League Baseball (Majors) Divisions and below shall be printed with a BPF of 1.15 or less.

This stipulation has been included in the Official Rules and Regulations for the past few years, leading up to 2009, so that leagues, parents, and bat manufacturers could prepare for it. However, we wanted you to be aware of this prior to the start of the season.

Most non-wood bats manufactured over the past several years for the age groups involved in Little League Baseball (Majors) and below have been permanently imprinted with the BPF. In fact, very few bats sold today with a diameter of 2-1/4 (two and one-quarter) inches are not printed with the BPF rating.

So, starting with the 2009 season, bats printed with a BPF higher than 1.15, or without a BPF printed (or not legible) on the bat, are not permitted in these divisions.

Are your kids playing in Little League?

Though there are community rec programs, youth baseball and youth softball programs around the world, there are a lot of communities that "think they have Little League" for their kids, when, in fact, they are not chartered and are not legally part of Little League!

Little League is a Federally-chartered non-profit entity - and only leagues chartered with Little League Baseball can legally use the trademark names "Little League," "Little Leaguer," "Challenger Division," and several other specific combinations. In fact the terms are protected by the Federal Government.

Are your kids wearing the Little League Patch on their uniform?

Are games played by the published Little League Baseball or Softball Rules and Regulations?

Are the 9-18 year olds eligible for selection to post-season teams that play in Little League tournaments at the District, State, Regional or International level?

Are your kids covered by Little League's Insurance?

Is your "league" involved in the Little League "A Safety Awareness Plan"?

Is there an emphasis on training managers and coaches in safety & fundamentals of the game?

Are you part of the largest CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM that just happens to use sports toward that goal?
