With a 7-0 record and a 29 point goal differential (34 GF, 5 GA), the Breakers wrap up their second consecutive Division Championship! In an effort to "go green" and battle global warming, the Breakers decided to forego the 80-mile trip to Sherando Park for their final game, to "officially" finish the season at 7-1.

On a scorching 100 degree day, the Breakers played their toughest game of the season against the VISTA Strikers at Kincheloe Park in Clifton. The Breakers scored first on a nice follow-through shot off of a rebound off the crossbar, then went up 2-0 on a nice fast break early in the second half to seemingly put the game out of reach. The Strikers played tough, however, and came back with a nice score in the middle of the second half to cut the lead to 2-1. Both teams mounted determined attacks, but solid defense all around prevented further goals and the Breakers walked away with a well-earned 2-1 victory, a 7-0 record and the Division Championship!

The defense continued its strong performance from last season, stopping several Wolf Pack attacks.
Preseason 2008
Congratulations to the Breakers for winning the Prince William Icebreaker Tournament, one of the biggest Spring preseason tournaments in the country! The team posted results of 2-0, 0-0 and 4-0 against a competitive field on their way to winning the championship game 4-1.
The Breakers played in the Arlington Tournament on the weekend of March 8-9, where the tournament's slogan of "rain, wind cold? No Problem!" proved true (thanks, Ruth, for the hand warmers!). The team played superbly through alternating pouring rain and freezing cold to turn in a 1-1-1 record, just missing the championship game over a PK. It was an excellent effort as the girls showed off terrific foot skills, passing and teamwork, justifying all of that off-season training!
