McLean Breakers
Welcome to the official site of the McLean Breakers, a highly competitive U-14 Girls travel soccer team based in McLean, VA, a town of 40,000 just outside Washington DC. McLean Youth Soccer has one of the top travel soccer programs in the country and is ranked #1 in the state, according to GotSoccer's rankings! The Breakers are professionally coached and practice several times per week, including weekly MPS intensive skills training sessions with its sister teams, the MPS Power and McLean Freedom. Haytham Mansur has been the Breakers' head trainer and coach for the last three seasons. During those seasons, the Breakers are 21-1-3 in league play, with the only loss as a result of a forfeit. Their goal differential for the three seasons is an incredible 88 to 12 (3 goals attributed to the forfeit).
The Breakers play in the Washington Area Girls Soccer League, and participate in numerous local and national tournaments. The team focuses on developing strong technical skills, stressing footwork, passing and ball control, taking a long-term approach to developing the total soccer player. The coaches emphasize fundamental skills, game awareness and overall fitness in a supportive environment that helps continue the players' enjoyment of the game of soccer. The team enjoys playing together and welcomes tryouts from other dedicated players!

"Breakers" - A wave that crests or breaks into foam, as against a shoreline.
The Breakers' play is characterized by controlled passing, a fast, explosive offense with numerous scoring threats, and a speedy, swarming defense that has resulted in 16 shut outs over the last 3 seasons. The team has a lot of fun playing together and in addition to the regular fall and spring seasons, also plays indoor winter soccer.
