Middle Division
With the homestretch just around the turn the standings appear just as foggy as when the week started. Munnerlyn Law Firm and Treadway got easy wins in what amounted to some free scrimmage time, as ineligible lineups ended up haunting their opponent. But MLF did fall on the night in their other game, as Kaught Looking broke a close game wide open with 13 runs in the 6th to win going away 21-8. College Hunks continued their struggles, as American Material Handling overcame missed opportunities in the 1st by plating their first 7 batters in the 2nd, winning 14-4. The Athletics were idle on the week, and will now play catchup during the rest of the schedule. This leaves 5 teams within a game and a half of each other. The next couple of weeks should provide some clarity.
Lower Division
The backside of a front that was predicted to bring steady rains brought steady winds blowing in instead, leaving the teams shifting to "small ball" tactics all night. The game of the night featured the two undefeateds, with Tommy Team Towing and Visioncare Arkansas squaring off. It was evident from the onset that the winner would be the team that could adjust to the wind, and the "TTT" fit the bill, as they plated 5 runs apeice in the first 2 innings to run away 19-7. VA never got it going consistently, managing only a 3 run 3rd as its best offensive output on the night. This leaves TTT as not only the lone unbeaten, but gives them tiebreaker advantages over the 2 teams closest to them in the standings. One of those teams is Schay Painting Co., who finds themselves just a half-game back after their 19-7 win over Garver. Like the team they are chasing, SPC got under the wind and stayed consistent offensively, plating multiple runners in each inning. Action Claims is now above the .500 mark with their 10-4 win over Maumelle Eye Care. It was a 6 run 7th inning that did the trick for AC, as MEC managed only 1 baserunner in the home half of the final frame. Davis Forestry added to their left column thanks to EHI's forfeit, giving DF an emergence from the cellar. This all leaves 6 teams within a game of each other in the middle of the pack, each chasing the 3 teams currently holding the trophy spots ahead of them.
