Massabesic Filly Lacrosse: Welcome

Welcome to the Massabesic Filly Lacrosse League website.  Registration for the 2013 season is now closed.

The league will be meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays starting on April 22, 2013 and running thru May 22, 2013. All practices will run from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and will be held at the Massabesic High School Sports Complex.  The sessions will consist of an hour of skills followed by an hour of games, with the exception of the first evening.  At the first session we will be announcing team placement, as well as handing out team jerseys and league picture information. 

Parents, please make sure that at each session your player is ready to go, and has brought all required equipment necessary to play, especially the stick, safety goggles and mouthguard(STICK, SAFETY GOGGLES AND MOUTHGUARD ARE MANDATORY-CLEATS ARE RECOMMENDED). If a player has forgotten their stick, goggles and/or mouthguard, they will not be allowed to participate in that session. Each player should also bring a drink to stay hydrated and be wearing their team jersey.  If the weather is cold, please make sure the team jersey is the outer layer being worn.

 This year the Massabesic Filly Lacrosse League is in desperate need of parent volunteers to help their child's team.  We have only 2 Sr. Team parents that are willing to help and we are finding ourselves very shorthanded with the other 4 teams. There are 3, Jr. Teams(2nd and 3rd graders), and 3, Sr. Teams(4th, 5th and 6th graders).  There are 6 to 9 players on each team, a very manageable number of players per team.  Team parents are not expected to be knowledgeable about the game of lacrosse, however it is a great opportunity to learn about the game and the skills required.  Team parents are there to support and encourage  each player on their assigned team.  It is ideal to have 2 parents help with each team, then if one cannot attend, hopefully the other can be present.  All skill stations and games are run by the Massabesic High School Lacrosse players with the guidance of Brooks their coach, Greg Kidder and myself,  who have volunteered in the league for 5 years now but currently have no children playing at this level.

 LEAGUE PICTURES

League pictures, both individual and team photos will be taken this WED., APRIL 24th, 2013 starting at 5:30 PM.  Every player will receive a picture envelope tonight.  Please remember to bring the completed envelope with payment to Wednesday's photo shoot.  Photos will not be taken without payment and due to time restraints there will be no retakes or other photo shoots. If you do not want to order photos, that is fine, we will still include your athlete in the group picture, so please be prompt and make every attempt to be present.
