Here is some more deep poetry that Dave sent me. I liked it and I hope you do too:
Something to think about...
Alone At the Plate
She pulls on the helmet, and picks up the bat
And walks to the plate, "Gotta get a hit and that's that"
The crowd starts to yell, the games on the line,
Last inning, two outs, the score's nine to nine.
Dad yells, "Go get it," Mom wrings her hands,
Coach hollers, "Hit it!!" but alone there she stands.
*
Heroes are made in seconds like this,
But she's just a little girl, what if she should miss?
Years after this game's ended and she's little no more,
Will she remember the outcome or even the score?
No, she'll have forgotten if she was out, hit or a run,
She'll only look back on her friends and the fun.
*
So cheer this girl on, alone with her fate;
Help her remember with fondness, this stand at the plate.
Spend your time wisely and help in her quest,
To be a hitter with confidence and always her best.
And when the game's over, this girl can stand tall,
For you helped her prepare to give her all.... |

Coach Charlie
I was thrilled to learn that Dave has taken the spot of your Head Coach. Dave is one of the best coaches this game has ever known. he truly knows not only how to play the games, but how to treat the girls and get the best out of them. Honestly, I learned more form him in the short time my daughter played for him than in the rest of the time I coached or my daughter played. He believes in them and they believe in him, which I cannot say for most other coaches. It is what Dave taught my daughter that got her a full ride to West Texas A+M University. Girls, your very fortunate to have such a great man to learn from. Take advantage of his knowledge and experience, he is truly one of the greatest softball coaches out there.

Sorry we weren't able to work out the scrimmage we had hoped for. Having a daughter who played under Coach Dave on Dynasty Gold, I was sure you would have given us a run for our money. Your're lucky to have Coach Dave. He's forgotten more softball than I will ever learn. Best wishes for a successful season. I hope we get the chance to play sometime soon. Coach Denise

Just wanted to wish Dave good luck with his new team. I enjoy the website and seeing how the girls are doing. Last week at a tournament that my daughter was playing in (South Carolina Classic-NCAA) we ran into 3 girls that played with Dynasty--Dave should know them--Jennifer Pittman, Lesette Vital and Erin Crager. All at different schools here on the East Coast but on Scholorships directly or indirectly influenced by Dave. Good luck girls.
