ILLEGAL CLEAT WARNING
The Delta Youth Football League has issued a warning that cleats with a hard center are not allowed.
The rules are stated as follows:
Nonremovable cleats are limited to studs or projections, which do not exceed 1/2 inch in length and which are made with nonabrasive rubber or rubber-type synthetic material which does not have and will not develop a cutting edge.
Cleats such as the Nike Shark (see image below) have studs that are attached to a hard center that can develop a cutting edge. These cleats are responsible for several injuries last year.
