The defense was lead by Jonathon Shaefer (2 QB sacks, numerous tackles for loss & recovered a fumble), Juan Gomez, Scott Teicheira, Colton Tarp & Devin Gonzales (QB Sack), (All had numerous tackles for loss and wreaked havoc on the Falcons all day) Cameron Ceja intercepted a pass in the 4th Quarter and returned it to the Dublin 6 yard line.
On Offense, Marcus Rivas ran wild over the Falcons with (4) touchdown runs: 34, 62, 9 & 6 yards respectively. Marcus finished with 18 rushes for 164 yards. LaDondi Ceaser scored once on a 9 yard TD run and Johnny Blackwell also scored once on a 45 yard scamper into the end zone.
The Chargers "Big Uglies" Offense line (Tyler Welch, Carson Anderson, Will Maddox, Francisco Saucedo & Nicholas Sims) played very well up front by blowing open holes that trucks could drive through.
Coaches Comment: "We finally came out and executed on offense and played stellar defense". "Last week we came close to winning after executing a perfect onside kick, but it just wasn't in the cards for us." "Today,we dominated every phase of the football game." "It was nice to see us play like we (Coaching staff) knew they could for 4 quarters of football".

The only extra cost for football players is a practice jersey that runs around $15. Also football socks and cleets are important, ask your coach which color socks they would prefer. During homecoming we ask that each parent donate a bag of candy. The end of the year we ask for a parent donation for the end of the season party for your team. We provide the game day jersey's the practice pants, and pads in a bag. This all needs to be returned at the end of the season.
The extra cost for cheerleaders is their cheer package which is approximately $160.00, this includes your warm up pants and jacket, shoes, socks, hair ribbon, under shirt, and spanx and a bag to keep it all in; you keep this. We do provide the cheer uniform and pom's which are returned at the end of the year. We also participate in "Jams", this is where the kids get to perform for other squads. This is approximately $50. AND we ask at homecoming and the beginning of the season for parents to donate a bag of candy. The beginning of the season we use the candy to make "gift bags" for our games.
OF COURSE, we have snacks for the end of the game, this schedule will be given out to each parent at the beginning of the season.

FINAL SCORE:
MANTECA CHARGERS NOVICE: 32 Modesto 49ers: 18
Outstanding Play:
The Charger OFFENSE came out and again put over 30 points on the scoreboard in a 32-12 win over the Modesto 49ers @ Modesto High on Saturday. "Coach Jon Shaefer; I was really happy with the way we are scoring points on our opponents and our defense is not allowing that many pints so it's a win-win combination". LaDondi Ceaser ran wild over the 49er's field with (4) four rushing Touchdown on the day. Marcus Rivas finished up the scoring with (1) one touchdown.
On DEFENSE the Chargers played very tough and besides the first 49er score, the last two were 'garbage TD's' made late in the game against less experienced players with the 49ers first team. The Chargers defense was lead by Scott Teicheira (Fumble recovery in the 3rd quarter, numerous solo and assisted tackles and 1/2 a QB sack Devin Gonzalez.) Jonathon Shaefer (2 QB sacks, numerous tackles for loss & blocked a P.A.T. attempt). Juan Gomez & Colton Tarp played well at their outside linebacker positions by containing the speedy 49er backs. Scott Teicheira, Colton Tarp & Devin Gonzales (QB Sack), Devin Gonzalez, Nathan Noble, and Jacob Marlin were the front three on the defensive line and played very well.
Coach Jon Shaefer's Comment: "We came out today and knew we were going to have to play a technically sound football game to beat the 49ers and that is exactly what we did. I am very proud of our players and coaching staff for all the hard work that they have put in this year.
