Age Policy for Players Born Between May 1 and August 31:
EFFECTIVE FOR SEASONS FALL 2011 AND AFTER
Mansfield Youth Baseball adheres to the Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken age deadline of April 30 of the spring season for determining division eligibility with the following exceptions ONLY for players born between May 1 and August 31:
•Any new player in the program can elect to play grade level. This is a one-time non revocable election.
•Players at any point before T-Ball through the season before AA can make a one-time election to play grade level.
•After first year of AA a player playing at grade level can continue grade level (age 10) or elect to play age level (age 9) and play a second year of AA. Any player playing a second season of AA as a 9 year old may not try out for a 9 year old Hock summer team.
•League aged 14 year olds who are freshman in high school may elect to be eligible for the senior league draft and if drafted would become a league aged 15 year old, be eligible for 15 year old summer teams and progress to a 16 year old the following season. If not drafted into seniors the player would play juniors as a 14 year old, be eligible for the 14 year old summer teams and progress to a 15 year old the following season. One time election to play age level for all current players after spring 2011 season (except if already played two years of majors). No Hock eligibility for first season after election.
All elections must be done prior to December 31 for spring and/or June 30 for fall and in writing to contact-us@mansfieldyouthbaseball.com. Level (age or grade) playing in the spring season in effect for subsequent summer season.
