May 19: Bottom Half Tournament at Ephrata Church of the Nazarene fields. For any church team that is ranked in the bottom half of their league either this year or last year. Teams will be permitted 2 pickups. Pickups may only be from teams that would be eligible for this tourney. This tournament is being created to give some teams the opportunity to go to a church tournament with a chance to enjoy fellowship, play softball and have a chance to play with teams that are more of their same caliber. Cost is $115. All proceeds benefit Nazarene Black softball to help offset costs to Ohio for the annual Nazarene Nationals tournament in September. Registration is limited. AUGUST 18: Champions League Tournament. Fifth annual event consists of top teams from various leagues in Lancaster County. Top four teams from Manheim will be eligible to play. In 2011, event was held behind the Ephrata Middle School and the cost was $95 per team. Last year, all teams qualified for weekend play, which consisted of a three-game guarantee in four-team brackets. Last year, the leagues that supplied teams for the event and the amount of teams they brought included Manheim (4), Ephrata (4), Donegal (2) and New Holland (2). Note: The two teams that reach the upper-division finals in Manheim receive the first two spots in the county tournament. The next two teams with the best regular-season records are given the other two spots.
