Registration fees alone do not begin to pay all the expenses incurred by the League each season to support the basic operation of our league, which includes equipment, uniforms, insurance and umpire fees to name a few.  Fundraising by our league families is integral to the League meeting its financial needs each season.

For 2009, the Malden West LL Board of Directors has voted that each family must participate in at least one fundraiser. In addition, we have heard your comments and in 2009 families will be given a choice of fundraisers to participate. For planning purposes, each family will be required to commit to which fundraiser they will participate in at time of registration.

Required Fundraising Choices

=> Candy Drive - Sell two boxes (52 bars per box) of candy. By participating in this fundraiser, the family agrees to return $104 to the League by the date provided.

=> Canning - Participate in canning weekend on May 15, 16, and 17. By participating in this fundraiser, the family agrees to be available on the weekend above for a minimum of three hours. In addition, an average of $50 per player must be achieved or a second canning session will be required.

=> Prize Calendar – Sell 10 $5 calendars. By participating in this fundraiser, families agree to pay for 10 $5 June prize calendars. Calendars will be distributed in May and families will be required to pay for the calendars at time of distribution. Families can then sell the calendars and keep the money.

=> Opt-out - Families can opt-out of fundraising by paying a $50 Opt-out fee no later than April 25th.

Optional Fundraising:  In addition to the required fundraisers, the League will be holding several optional fundraisers throughout the season including Pisa Pizza Night and a Spring Pancake Breakfast to name a few. In order to meet our financial obligations, each family is asked to participate in these fundraisers, both by attending the fundraiser and volunteering to help out. In order for our end of year league banquet to be held, participation in these optional fundraisers is necessary.
