4/26/2011 - Tough Loss for Diablo's Against Dana Hills

Well the Dolphin's did it again to the Diablo's.  In a very tense and back and forth match the Dana Hills Dolphin's took down the Diablo's in five games.  The Diablo's started out strong with good serving and excelent execution.  Matt Marsh and Jason Willahan had some great serving runs.  The first game finshed 25-15.  The second game was shaky and the teams were tied at 22 before Dana won.  The remaining games were close but in the end, the Diablo's lost 12-15 in the 5th game.   There is still hope for the league championship (but it might have to be a tie).

3/31/2011 - Diablo's Sweep San Clemente

In an unprecedented league game, the Diablo's swept the Triton's in three games tonight.  It hasn't happened for a long time but the Mission Viejo Boys' volleyball team took San Clemente in three games.  The score was tight for the first two games but the Diablo's really turned up the  heat in the third game to seal the match.  The Diablo's were led by Matt Marsh who had 24 kills in three games.  The setting by Seaver Stoll was absolutely on fire.  Also hitting well was Gunnar LeSueuer, Jason Willahan, and Isaac Neilson.  One of the keys to this great win was the blocking.  Good job Diablo's!!!

Congratulations to the Three High Performance Selected Players

High Performance Volleyball has tryouts for the Youth National Team.  These are the top 17-18 year old players in the nation.  The tryouts are held all over the United States.  In the end, they select 19 boys (and 5 alternates) for the first  cut at making the Youth National Team.  It is with great pride that we recognize Matt Marsh for making the first cut of this team.  The boys that make the first cut will be flown to Colorado Springs for training and there they will select the 12 boys to represent the United States in the Youth Pan Am Cup (in Mexico) and the Youth World Championships in Argentina.  Congratulations Matt!!!!

Also making teams were Jason Willahan who made the Boys' Continental Team and Kyle Miller who made the High Performance A3 Team.  This is a huge accomplishment.  Congratulations Jason and Kyle!!!!!

Diablo's Have a Tough Start to the Season

Mission Viejo boys had a tough start to their season Thursday night against the Dolphins of Dana Hills.  It was a hard fought battle but in the end the Diablo's just missed taking the 5th game 13-15.  This is the first time Mission Viejo has faced Dana Hills and it was a tough match.  The Diablo's were led by Matt Marsh and Seaver Stoll.  Gunnar LeSueuer had a fantastic night hitting.  Kyle Miller did an awesome job as libero.  In the end the Dolphins got the win but it was a battle.
