Alberta Soccer is working to improve the coaching standards for soccer in Alberta. Commencing at the start of the 2011 Outdoor Season, the following two year plan will help bring this goal to fruition:
*Please note – All team bench personnel require a valid CPIC clearance. Alberta Soccer will enter all coach names into the new online NCCP tables, which are submitted electronically. This will help the office track qualifications easily and will enable new coaches to obtain their NCCP Coaching numbers faster. NCCP Courses offered in Calgary will be posted on the CMSA www.calgaryminorsoccer.com website. Security Clearance (CPIC) CMSA CPIC POLICY - The Document on the CMSA website under Coaches & Managers CANADIAN POLICE INFORMATION CHECK (CPIC) – The Process All Team Officials listed on a CMSA team roster [Coaches, Managers, Assistant coaches, U10-U18 (outdoor) and U6-U18 (indoor)] require a current and valid security clearance. You can apply for security clearance at the CMSA office. CMSA processes your application and sends it to the Calgary Police for confirmation and approval.
Confirmation from the Calgary Police Service takes between 4-6 weeks. Team
Officials will be TEMPORARILY approved to participate in activities
during the processing phase. Once CMSA receives the official documentation back
from the Calgary Police Service, you will either be approved for 36 months OR
you will be required to visit the Calgary Police Service for additional
information to complete your check. Please note this second level screen request
is from the Calgary Police Service. You will not be permitted to be an active
Team official until this second level screening is complete.

Kyle Donohoe Memorial Award
Coaches,
We will be accepting submissions for the Outdoor Season up until June 30, 2012 11:59pm.
Indoor 2011-12 Award Winner-Sebastian Pawlikowski
The MSB Arsenal nominate Sebastian Pawlikowski for the Indoor 2011-12 Kyle Donohoe Memorial Award. I had the pleasure of coaching Sebastian a few years ago and I'm glad to have him back. I feel he is a worthy candidate for this award for a number of reasons. Sebastian is always on time for games as well as practice which shows his dedication and commitment to the team. He always listens to what the coaches say and then demostrates it on the field whether it be in practice or a game and always gives it his full effort. He shows respect to his fellow competitors, the referees and is very respectful of the coaches. He 's been asked to play different positions and has never complained and is always willing to do what is best for the team. His positive attitude and encouragement towards his teammates is second to none. He knows when to have fun (with the players and the coaches) and he knows when it's time to be serious. He is a pleasure to coach and a great team player.
Coach Joe Novello

Calgary Minor Soccer Association Photo Identification
All players from U12 to U18 require a valid CMSA Photo ID card (with an expiry date on it.) The referee may ask that these cards be handed in individually to the referee at the start of the game. If a player does not have their Player Card, that Player will not be allowed to participate in the game. All Team Officials for U10 to U18 teams requires a valid CMSA Photo ID and all require a Canadian Police Information Clearance (CPIC) to be placed on a team roster. All registered U10 players playing-up on a U12 team in a league game require a restricted movement pass, signed by one of their team officials or Club Board of Directors. This pass is to be given to the team the player is playing-up with. The pass, along with the game sheet is to be submitted to the Referee. Blank copies of the restricted movement pass can be downloaded from the CMSA website in the documents section. All Player Photo ID cards are valid for 4 years from the date of issue. All team official Photo ID cards are valid for 3 years. Upon expiry, Cards will be revalidated and re-issued at no cost to the Player / Team Official, should they still require a valid CMSA Photo ID card and as long as the old card is handed in at the time of revalidation. If a coach cannot make a game for any reason, they may give their team official card to a responsible adult for presentation to the referee if no other team officials will be present at the game. In the event that none of the Team Officials for a specific team show up to a game with a valid ID card, one Team Official will be allowed to remain on the bench (and a bench Parent if required) and the game will be played. The Referee will note that no cards were presented on the game sheet. The ID cards are property of CMSA and must be given back to the Member at the end of each season or when requested by CMSA. The cost for the card is $10 (cash or cheque only) unless turning in an old or expired card, which then the card will replaced for free. Any player found using more than one-(1), player ID card shall be suspended from all soccer activity until a CMSA Discipline hearing is held.
If you have lost your player ID card, you can contact the CMSA office to have the card reprinted. A $10 fee will be charged for this.
