The MPLL All-Stars are Done
Well, I saw the score on the District website. It appears that the 11U's lost last night to Northridge 10-5. I couldn't make the game, so who knows how it went. They had a great run, though. Congratulations to the 11U District All-Star Team and their success! Yet another banner for MPLL to proudly hang at the fields.
Tonight is the Championship game between Tustin Western and Northridge. I'd bet it will be a good one, so come on down to cheer them on.

(evening update)
Ouch!
Well, the good news is that the 11U's are still playing. The bad news is, that they're now in the elimination bracket.
The 11U District All-Stars lost this evening to a good Tustin Western team 10-2. Tustin's bats were just too hot, and their pitching was on. Moorpark now plays Northridge tomorrow at 5pm.
Northridge beat East View this evening 5-0 to stay alive in the elimination bracket. The winner of tomorrow's game between Northidge and Moorpark will play Tustin Western on Wednesday at 5pm.

That the MPLL 8U All-Star Team had some success of their own recently???
That's right.
The 8U All-Stars took first place in the Sunset Tournament - Summer Slam in Oxnard, CA that spanned over 2-weeks from July 6 - July 18, 2009.
The "ScrapDogs" were undefeated in this tournament!

And Then There Was One...
I wasn't at the 12U game today, but just saw the news on the Division Tournament Website. It appears that our 12U District All-Star team lost today, and is now out of the tournament. They lost to LaVerne 12-9 in the elimination bracket, so their season is over. You have to hand it to them though, they did bring home two banners!

Meanwhile, the 11U's are still alive!
They play tomorrow (Monday) at 5pm, so get there early for a good seat. I'm thinking it may draw a crowd.

Did you hear the one about the local team that's going to the Big League World Series?
The Thousand Oaks Big League Little League all-stars are going to Easley, S.C., for the fifth time in seven years after winning Friday night’s Western Regional championship, 4-3 over Las Vegas, the Nevada champion, in Bremerton, Washington. Our own MPLL alumni, Dakota Fog is among those who will contend for this year's title.

You Win Some, You Lose Some.
The 12U District All-Stars played Tustin Western this afternoon, and lost a tough one. It was a 10-0 mercy that sends Moorpark to the elimination bracket. Their next game is tomorrow at 1pm against Laverne at the same field in Encino. Go get 'em boys! I know you've got some fight left.
Back at home later in the day, our 11U District All-Stars were involved in a tight game. That is, until they brought out the can of whoop-a. The Moorpark 11U's ended up beating a good La Puente team 12-2. Their next game is Monday at 5pm against the winner of tomorrow's 1pm game.
So, the good news is.. we still have two District All-Star teams playing. Now get out there and cheer them on.

Two Section 1 Titles for Moorpark!!
(Morning Update)
Well, the 10U District All-Stars ended up losing 11-10 in their elimination game. I wasn't there, but I bet it was a close and exciting game. Congratulations to everyone involved on your winning run, and good luck next year!
The 11U District All-Stars won the Section 1 Tournament by beating Orcutt National 7-3! They move on to the sub-section tournament to be played right here in Moorpark. Their first game is this Saturday at 3:30pm.
The 12U District All-Stars won the Section 1 Tournament by beating Orcutt National 4-0! They now move on to the Sub-section 3 Tournament to be held in Encino starting this Saturday. Their first game will be at 1pm vs Tustin Western (District 30).
(Encino Little League's field is located at 5120 Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino.)

District All-Star Updates
Late-night update!
O.k., here's the lowdown for tomorrow's games...
The 10U District All-Stars won tonight, beating Lompoc American 14-8. They now get another shot at Goleta Valley tomorrow at 5pm.
The 11U District All-Stars will face Orcutt National tomorrow at 5pm in the Championship game. Orcutt National beat Arroyo Grande 14-4 this evening to earn the match-up.
The 12U District All-Stars will face Orcutt National tomorrow at 5pm in the championship game. Orcutt National beat Arroyo Grande 6-4 this evening to earn the match-up.
We're gonna need a teleporter to see all these exciting games tomorrow.
Morning update
The 10U District All-Stars lost to Goleta Valley 9-2 yesterday. They now play Lompoc American in the elimination bracket, tonight at 5pm.

All three MPLL District All-Star Teams win their first game yesterday!
The 10U District All-Stars beat Arroyo Grande 8-2 yesterday. The play Goleta Valley next at 4pm today.
The 11U District All-Stars beat Orcutt National 11-6 yesterday. They play yesterday's other winner at 4pm today.
The 12U District All-Stars beat Ojai Valley 8-0 yesterday. They play Arroyo Grande next at 3pm today.
Let's all hope for more good news this evening!

MPLL has three District All-Star Teams playing in their sectional tournaments starting today (oh my). Here's their itinerary for the day:
The 10U District All-Stars play @ 4pm today vs Arroyo Grande in Nipomo
The 11U District All-Stars play @ 1pm today vs Orcutt National in Arroyo Grande
The 12U District All-Stars play @ 12pm today vs Ojai Valley in Moorpark

Moorpark District All-Star Updates
(Late Update)
Moorpark 12U District All-Stars win District 13 Championship!
The 12U All-Stars defeated T.O. 9-4 to win the District title this evening. They now move on to the Sectional Tournament this Saturday @ 12pm, here at the Moorpark fields.

Moorpark 10U District All-Stars to play in title game this Wednesday @ 5:00pm. They will play the winner of tonight's elimination game between Conejo and Sunset.
Moorpark 11U District All-Stars win the District 13 Championship! They defeated T.O. 12-10 in 7 innings in what I think was the best game of the year. When was the last time you saw 2 grand slams in the same inning? Well, it happened when T.O. hit one in the top of the 6th to take a huge 10-5 lead. It was looking like they had the game, until Moorpark rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the 6th with a grand salami of their own. Moorpark scored two more runs with a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 7th to win the championship.
They now move on to the Sectional Tournament in Arroyo Grande. Their first game is this Saturday at 1:00pm.
Moorpark 12U District All-Stars play in title game! They play T.O. tonight at 5:00pm in Moorpark in what is sure to be an exciting game. You better be there to see this one yourself!
This is the time of the year when the exciting games are being played. Make sure you're there to see the action for yourself.

Moorpark Fury Wins CBC championship in dramatic fashion!

Having won it's first five games by a total of 54-8, Moorpark had to go deep in the game to find the spark that had been there the whole series. Collin Mitchell the perennial spark plug walked to start the bottom of the fifth. Then the big guns Quinton P., and game MVP Tyler F. had big hits to put the team up 7-6. Dane T. struck out two and faced only four batters in the top of the sixth to seal the victory. Much credit to the Moorpark pitchers who looked almost perfect throughout the series.

Moorpark District All-Star Updates
The 10U District All-Stars beat Conejo Valley 11-2 last night. Their next game is Saturday, July 11 @ 10:00am.
The 11U District All-Stars edged Conejo Valley 11-9 on Monday. Their next game is Saturday, July 11th at 1:00pm.
The 12U District All-Stars beat Sunset 4-0 last Saturday. Their next game is Thursday, July 9th @ 5:00pm.
The Junior District All-Stars beat T.O. 16-14 last Saturday. They then played Sunset on Monday, and lost 12-6. They are now out of the tournament.
The Senior District All-Stars lost to Sunset 9-8 last Monday. Their next game it this Friday against the loser of todays game between Sunset and El Rio.

O.K., now it's time to talk District All-Stars. Here's a little summary:
The 10U District All-Stars beat T.O. 14-2 in 4 innings on Tuesday. Their next game is Tuesday, July 7th at 5pm against Conejo Valley. They play at the T.O. Little League field A.
The 11U District All-Stars beat Sunset 15-0 in 4 innings last Monday. Their next game is Monday, July 6th at 5pm against Conejo Valley. They play at the Simi Valley Little League.
The 12U District All-Stars beat Conejo Valley 13-1 in 4 innings on Tuesday. Their next game is Saturday, July 4th at 10am. They play at the Moorpark Little League Field A.
The Junior District All-Stars lost to Sunset 23-2 in 5 innings last Saturday. Their next game is Friday, July 3rd at 5pm against Thousand Oaks. They play at the Channel Islands High School.
The Senior District All-Stars play their first game against Sunset next Monday, July 6th at 5pm. They play at the El Rio Little League Fields.

Another CBC Championship Win for Moorpark!
The Moorpark 10U Team wins Tuesday's Championship game 7-6!
I wasn't there to see it, but heard it was an interesting game. With the game tied 1-1 most of they way, Moorpark falls behind when the other team (CBC?) scores 5 runs. Moorpark apparently rallies with 6 runs of their own to win the game. I'm sure there was a little drama and excitement mixed in as well.
How about that?
Moorpark leaves the 2009 CBC Tournament with 2 Championship wins!!!

Moorpark 12U CBC Team Wins Championship Game
The Moorpark 12U CBC Team edged the NBVC team 3-2 in a thriller last night!
Moorpark could have been intimidated when NBVC jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the game, but they weren't. They battled back to tie the score 2-2 after 4 innings, then held the NBVC big guns in the top of the 5th. Moorpark scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 5th with some key hitting. James B. shut NBVC down 1-2-3 in the top of the 6th to record the complete game win.

2 Moorpark Wins at the Hueneme CBC Tournament Today
The 10U Moorpark CBC team won their 12:30pm game today, and the 12U Moorpark CBC team won their 3:00pm game today 10-7. Both teams advance to their championship games this week. The 10U team plays on Tuesday at 5:00pm, and the 12U team plays on Tuesday at 7:30pm.

12U CBC All-Star News
Nice start for the team on Saturday night. We won in a landslide 15-1.
Wow, nice job.
Sheldon went 4-5, James had 3 hits plus 3 scoreless innings pitching.
I could name a lot more, if not the whole team, in a great effort to start our post season play.
I am impressed.
