Special Sponsor Thanks

Special Sponsor thanks should go to the Ohanian family. Both Tedi and Lisa have been gracious with their time and resources to help MPLL before during and after the season. As well, they donated the AA fence, and Tedi was a Manager - Lisa a Team Mom (boys were in AA and AAA). They are also active in AYSO. We are grateful to have them as an integral part of our league!

Maintenance and Repair

Our largest single expense in the budget that we continue to struggle with year after year is maintenance and repair on the fields. We spend thousands of dollars annually just to maintain fields - since the schools allow us the privilege to use the fields with no lease; we pay for the care and upkeep, year round. We ask for your continued support to volunteer time and resources to help us reduce the cost of upkeep.

Abide by the Rules!

Please remember we play as guest on the fields of Chaparral Middle School and must abide by their rules. As such, NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED and there is NO SMOKING. Please respect these rules.

Youth Umpires

Last year we instituted paying our Youth Umpires since we were not getting adequate coverage for games by our volunteer adults (parents). Certainly, we can always utilize more adult umpires - and we will train you. Paid or not, this does not change our vigorously enforced policy of deference to umpires, especially youth umpires. ANY ADULT OR COACH WHO ARGUES WITH A YOUTH UMPIRE WILL BE EJECTED INSTANTLY.

About Us

Moorpark Little League was founded by Bart Miller of the Moorpark Rotary in 1958, and has been supported by Moorpark Unified School District and the City of Moorpark since then.

Since its inception, the goal of the League has been to encourage kids of all ages to learn and participate in baseball, under the guidelines of Little League International.

eMarketing Services

We're preparing for another fantastic year of baseball! Registration includes hat, jersey, picture, but not pants, socks, or belt. There's an updated registration form and some minor fee changes. However, we highly recommend that our players be registered online, please go to our website for directions.

Once again we have an early registration discount if you sign up before December 15. After January 15, 2008 we cannot guarantee placement on a team. We will form a waiting list and if enough coaches can be found, your child will be placed on a team. We want as many children playing baseball as possible.

As always, we need top quality managers. No single person has as much impact on the experience for both the player and parent as the manager. Each year we have an acute shortage of manager applicants in most of our divisions. If you are interested in teaching teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship, managing a team can be a very rewarding experience.

Last, but not least, we have an outstanding Board of Directors for the coming year. Click here, then click on the "Board of Directors" link to see for yourself. It's going to be an exciting season of baseball and we're all looking forward to it. Thank you for joining us.

Gary Kelman

President, MPLL, 2007

It's the Stuff of Legends

The Moorpark Legends U-7 baseball team took first place in the Port Hueneme Firecracker Tournament. The team scored 106 runs in four games. Pictured in the front row from left to right are Parker Gelfuso, Robert Fletcher, Chad Conway, Cole Moses, Zach Zulager and Tanner Barnhart. Middle row: Zach DeSanto, Isaiah Sogah, Alex Bill, Sawyer Stoehr, Issac McKay and Dillon Holliday. Back row: Coaches Ron Conway, Jeff Barnhart and Scott Zulager.

Summer Success with ALLSTARS
We had championship teams in both our District and non-district tournament teams. We set a new record for MPLL with 3 of our 4 district teams winning our district 13 tournaments, the 12, 11 and 10 YO's. The 9's were one game from completing the full SWEEP!

As for the non-district allstars, the FARM teams, especially the Gold team, won a few tournaments. We also had teams in championship games in the 11 and 10 YO allstar teams. All details and pictures are posted on our website.

Early Birds Catch the Savings!
Please make sure you save money by registering before the December 15th deadline date.
You can register online or you'll find a registration packet at the following stores:
  • Palani's
  • Westcoast Pizza
  • Chicks
If you are interested in being a Manager, your application is also due by that time.

Board Member Highlight: John Husted

John Husted - District 13 All-Star Coordinator and Publicity Director for MPLL as well as coach, team mom, field maintenance and repair crew and everything and anything that MPLL needed throughout the year (summer included)... John gives his heart and soul (or is that sole) to not only MPLL but the community and all the sports programs - and he should, his kids are in all of them! John is well liked and appreciated in our town - he has lived in the area since birth, so everyone knows of him.

We hope he can continue to serve with the energy and passion that he has demonstrated for years in our program, since his oldest son John-Michael was in T-ball (he is now 17 yearrs old). You do the math!

Thank you John Boy!!

Tribute to a Past President
We would like to honor and show our appreciation to a "retiring" long term board member who has given life and limb for MPLL - that is Ken Rayzor! He has been in numerous positions on the board over the years (how many now Ken, is it 7 years)?! Ken was not only President for a couple of years, but helped out as VP last year and is still helping us behind the scenes. We will always remember Ken for his great "radio announcing voice" for all our main events. As well, his contributions and leadership have helped make MPLL the great success it is today!
