Martinsburg Little League: 2013 Spring Season Divisions

Junior
Junior Division is an expansion of the Little League® to accommodate young people who are league ages 13 and 14. The game is played on a 90 foot field, the same as high school and college baseball.

Intermediate

Major
The Major Division consists of skilled and experienced 9, 10, 11 and 12 year olds. Selection on a Major team is made through the draft system.

Minor
Minor Division consists primarily of 9, 10 & 11 year olds. Players are first introduced to a pitched ball by another player. Batting and fielding is emphasized at this level.

Rookie
Rookie Division consists primarily of 7 & 8 year olds. First year of hitting a pitched ball from a machine or coach.

Tee Ball
T-BALL utilizes the batting tee rather than the pitched ball, is for players ages 4-7. Five year olds are eligible for Tee-Ball only. Six year olds with no prior experience are eligible for Tee-Ball only. Seven year olds with no prior experience have a choice of playing Tee-Ball or Rookie. It is essentially an instructional league where hitting, throwing and catching a baseball are taught for the first time. The ball is hit from a tee at home plate. First day of games for T-Ball this year will be April 20. Practices will begin about two weeks prior and season will continue through about the second week of June.
