The Road To Williamsport 2009
What a run this amazing MNMLL 11 year old team had.(Bob Pizzimenti's team). They ended up losing the Championship game, 3-1, to Staten Island, but a bit of perspective is due here. Over 300+ teams are in NY State at this level. One three run homer by Staten Island in the second inning was the difference between our team from Merrick being the BEST in the State. Very impressive boys! And congratulations to Bob and his coaching staff and also our champs parents. Get home safe from Oswego. This team is the LONG ISLAND SECTIONAL CHAMPS. Wednesday, Aug 12th: Merrick lost 3-1 in the NY State Championship vs Staten Island (South Shore).

Tuesday, Aug 11th: Merrick beat East Greenbush 11-2 in the Semi-Finals.

Monday, Aug 10th: Merrick lost to Maine Endwell in game 2 of pool play 3-1.

Sat, Aug 8th: Merrick beat Staten Island in State pool play game 1, 7-6 with walk off run in bottom of sixth.
