Just a quick note for the AAA Indians who ALL played a good game against the Athletics on Friday June 20th. Unfortunately the Indians did not advance to the World Series, However this is not what is important about this game!
During the season, a rainy one at that, these players have grown as a team! Sportsmanship was the focus and fun was the result! All of the players learned a great deal about baseball thanks to their manager, Tom Valle, and coaches, Jeff Tabman and Bob Mekelburg.
To repeat a famous quote "It's not about winning, but how you play the game". We feel that this was the most important lesson of all taught to our children by these fine coaches. Once again the parents would like to thank all of them for taking their time to be a special part of our children's lives. You are all dedicated, patient and caring and those are the qualities that make a great coach! I know I can speak for all the parents on the Indians roster in saying that it would be our pleasure and good fortune to be chosen as members of your team next year!
Thank You again for a wonderful season!
Fondly,
Eric Sustad and Family |

On Tuesday night June 17th, the Blue Jays had a scrimage game to end their year of baseball. Unfortunately, Mother Nature was not so kind to this league as we were rained out of most of our games. manager Lou Melito expressed concern that the children did not get a full dose of the instructional experience. However in what little time he had, he gave the team his all and each one of the players demonstrated their newly learned skills.
Thanks again for a terrific season. The kids had fun and the parents were proud of all of the kids. Pizza, soda and brownies were provded by the Melito's to celebrate new friendships and hope for the future to continue to play together. |

on Monday night, June 16th the AAA indians beat the Tigers by 7-6 in a game that turned around for the Indians in the last inning. John Mekelburg drove in three RBI's and Eric Sustad made a running catch to rob the Tigers of an extra run. All of the indians gave their all and demonstrated how a middle of the line team can come back and rally to hopefully clinch a spot in the World Series.
Go Indians!!!!!!! |

Congratulations to the Pirates for winning the playoff game against the Red Sox in the A league series on Monday night. It was a very exciting game with both teams holding onto their lead without losng faith. Manager Bill Goldband gave a beautiful speech conveying the message that " we learned alot and had fun". he also stated that he would be proud to have all of the players back on his team any time. All of the parents returned the compliment to him and agreed that we would feel the same to have him for a coach again. In the end, after all of the parents gave out special treats, you could see how proud all of them were, as the boys did a great job all season long. They truly came together as a team and this is what sportsmanship is all about!!!!!!!!!!
Good Luck to both the Pirates and Yankees in the series!!!!!!!!!!! |

| The A league Red Sox defeated the Athletics in a tight game on saturday June 14th at TPL. Both teams held eachother to a close score. At the end, great hits by the players including two homeruns by Ryan Goldband, two triples by Jake Kapoosuzian, and hits by Scott Fessler, James Seible, and Glen Rubenstein resulted in a win for the Sox. Great pitching by Ryan Goldband and Josh Chait cliched the win as well. First baseman Kevin Sustad walked and Stephen Weiner gave it his all at bat. The coaches, as well as all the fathers at the game, were given the best Father's dAY present of all -- the joy of watching "their boys" play baseball, and a win to send them all home with a smile. |
