MEDINA BEES YOUTH FOOTBALL -- "WE PLAY LIKE CHAMPIONS"

2007LOGO

Welcome to the home of the Premier Youth Football League in Medina.  MBYF is the Home of NFL FLAG Football, the Broncos, Stallions, Storm, Predators, Rampage, Grizzlies, Hawks, Crush, Cobras, Wildcats, Eagles, Sharks, Knights, Dawgz, Panthers and Bisons.  2010 marks our ninth season.  Since 2002, MBYF has more than quadrupled its enrollment. Over 1400 girls and boys participate in our programs during the course of the year.

This growth is clear proof that the Medina football community views MBYF as the best youth football league.  Over 90% of our age eligible players and cheerleaders return for the following season.   This is proof that MBYF provides the best football, NFL FLAG Football and cheerleading programs in Medina.

With MBYF your family gets much more than with any other league:  a greater degree of commitment to teaching skills and having fun; more games; more playing time; more free events (pool parties, Browns games, etc.),  better equipment and uniforms.

THE LEADER IN YOUTH FOOTBALL:  MBYF is the leader in all areas of the game.  As a member of American Youth Football and USA Football, we utulize national resources to promote the sports of football and cheerleading while instilling strong values in our participants.

MBYF is the only league to require both background checks and National Certification (USA Football) of all coaches, advisors and staff, for the safety of our participants; attendance of coaching clinics to so that our coaches remain the most knowledgable and skilled in youth football;

We also instill in our participants a sense of giving back to the community. In the past several years we have provided support for renovations and maintenance of Bill Dunn Field; installation of  scoreboard at Bill Dunn Field; sponsored Ken Dukes Stadium Renovation; donated funds to Medina High School Athletic Department; Medina Athletic Boosters sponsor; participated annually in Memorial Day, 4th of  July and Candlelight Walk Parades; sponsored the Arthritis Foundation Walk; hosted team dinners for Medina High School Football Team and supported many other local charitable causes and events.

  MBYF/NFL FLAG FOOTBALL

MBYF is the only league in Medina that since 2002 has offered NFL FLAG Football (both Spring and Fall Seasons);  We offer multiple age divisions to provide the most fun and competition for all athletes:  In the spring our age groups are;  U6; U8, U10 and U13.  In the fall our age groups are U6, U8 and U10.  In 2009 we fielded 32 Spring NFL FLAG Football and 24 Fall NFL FLAG Football teams.  In 2010 we anticipate that the number of participants will grow again.

NFL FLAG Players receive an NFL FLAG game jersey, mouthpiece, trophy and certificate of accomplishment from the NFL.  NFL FLAG players keep their uniforms.

We also offer an Indoor Flag Football at the Medina Fieldhouse.  The second session starts on February 6, 2010.  Age divisions are U5, U7 and U9.  Fourteen teams are currently playing in the first session of our 2010 Winter Flag Football.

*The flag football league referenced herein (NFL FLAG League) is officially licensed by NFL Properties LLC, but none of the National Football League (NFL), its member clubs, NFL Ventures, L.P. or any of their respective affiliates or subsidiaries are sponsoring or operating the NFL FLAG League or will have any liability or responsibility for any claim arising in connection with participation in the NFL FLAG League. TACKLE FOOTBALL

MBYF has grown from 5 teams in our first season, to 24 teams in 2009.  MBYF  is the only league which competes against teams from Medina High School's Conference (The Northeast Ohio Youth Football Conference). The Northeast Ohio Youth Football Conference is one of the largest in Ohio, consisting of over 60 teams drawn from the school districts in Medina, Brunswick, Strongsville, North Royalton, Brooklyn, Brecksville-Broadview Heights and new for 2010 - Highland.

We offer divisions based upon age and weight to promote development of our players and competition:  Bantam- players ages 7 and 8 under 100 pounds;  Nine Year Old Division (max weight 130 pounds); Ten Year Old Division (max weight 140 pounds) and Varsity for players 11 and older (max weight 150 pounds).

Every tackle player receives a game and practice uniform, mouthpiece, game socks, t-shirt and trophy.

Our weight and age divisions offer the best mix of competiveness and safety of any league in the area.  Weight is only one safety factor to consider.  Maturity has a much greater impact on safety.  Our divisions address this issue better than any other league.

We limit all of our tackle squads to 19 players to maximize playing time and increase individualized teaching.  We strictly enforce are rules in regard to playing time.  All players must receive a minimum of 10 plays (not counting punts) per game.

CHEERLEADING

MBYF offers cheerleading for girls ages 6 to 13.  Girls are assigned to squads primarily based upon age.  However, we also make certain that sisters are assigned to the same squads as their brothers.  MBYF Cheerleading offers the best mix of instruction and fun. We stress making every girl feel important.  We focus on team building through our various camps and clinics.  We also want all of our cheerleaders to recognize and take pride in being MEDINA Cheerleaders.  This is why we have them perform a group dance during the Kick Off Classic Tournament, participate in the Medina High School Spirit Night and offer group spirit activities throughout the season.

Every Cheerleader receives a game uniform, including socks, undergarments and hair ribbons and trophy.

Many of our cheerleading alumna are now members of Medina's middle school and high school cheer squads as well as members of competition cheer squads.

SUCCESS:  MBYF is the only league in which teams from all age groups can qualify for the playoffs. Our teams have a proven track record of success-- 14 Division Champions, 11 Conference Champions, 11 League Champions, 2 League Runners Up and 10 Division runners up since 2002.  In 2008, MBYF swept the NOYFC Championships for the second consecutive year.  In 2009, MBYF teams won the Junior Varsity and Varsity NOYFC Championships and the came in second in the Bantam Championships.

Beyond success on the field, we judge success by how much our players and cheerleaders enjoyed the season.  Over 90% of those age eligible to participate in MBYF return each season.

We believe that to be the best, you need to compete against the best.  That is why MBYF is the only league that offers its players the opportunity to play against regional and national competition, by hosting our Kick Off Classic pre season tournament and through our participation in the Midwest Youth Football National Championships.  Our teams have successfully competed against some of the best programs in the Midwest and Canada.

MBYF is the only league that sponsors a regional football tournament, "The MBYF Kick Off Classic".  2010 will mark the fifth year for the Kick Off Classic.  We are pleased to announce that Sheetz has committed to being the 2010 Kick Off Classic Primary Sponsor.  Each year the Kick Off Classic draws teams from across the Midwest and Canada.  The 2010 Kick Off Classic promises to be even bigger and better.

We also enalble our players to improve their skills by offering off season conditioning, skills combines, speed & agility classes, football and cheer clincs as well indoor 7 on 7 league for players 8 and older.  This league will help players improve their pass defense, receiving and passing skills.  If you would like to be a part of the 7 on 7 league, please e-mail:  support@mbyfootball.org.

The success of our program lays the foundation for our player's future success.  The majority of players on the Medina High School team started their football careers with an MBYF team.  The 2009 Medina High School Defensive MVP, Taylor Bennett as well as the 2008, Medina High School Offensive (Pat O'Boyle) and Defensive (Connor Kunz) MVP's, all played for MBYF's Broncos.

VALUE:   With MBYF you get much more.   There are no hidden costs, as MBYF provides all equipment and uniforms necessary to participate (cheerleaders, football and NFL FLAG Football Players).  In addition the registration fee covers trophies and admission to all MBYF events such as pool parties, Snow Bowl and more.

MBYF provides the best coaching, equipment, uniforms, trophies and events available for all of our players and cheerleaders.

Beyond equipment, trophies and uniforms, your son or daughter will learn important lessons about team work, respect for others, discipline and friendship.

As always, no child will be turned away due to inability to pay fees. Children who have a parent on active military duty play free.

We hope that we have answered many of your questions about MBYF.  Please feel free to explore the pages of our website. If you need any further information, please feel free to e-mail us:  support@mbyfootball.org or call Mike at 330-441-1145.
