MAPS - JAGS - U15 - Spring '08 MAPS - JAGS - U15 - Spring '08 This is the site of the Mid-Atlantic Premier Soccer Flights of JAGS & Jersey Area Girls Soccer League(JAGS) for the U15 Division. The teams participating have been gathered from various parts of the region and represent some of the top teams in the area. This Spring we have over 52 teams represented by 5 states in four Divisions: the Maps Division, the Jags Premier Division, the Jags League Division, and the Jags National Division. Teams competing in each of the Divisions can be found by clicking on the TEAMS tab on the left of this page. Good Luck to ALL of the Teams in Spring '08 !! Thursday, May 29 Thanks From FC DELCO FC DELCO would like to express our gratitude to the multitude of people and teams who contributed to our collection at the FC DELCO Players Cup this weekend on behalf of Andrew McDonough and his family. The donations netted $2,050 which will be distributed to the McDonough Family to assist with living expenses while Andrews parents remain by his side. In addition, we would like to thank all of those who participated in our Bone Marrow Drive both at PDA and at USTC. This was done to honor Andrew and Peter Kelts, the father of U-15 Sting player Brianna Kelts who passed away on Thursday after a long bout against leukemia. The compassion and empathy exhibited by the Families and teams attending our tournament is very touching. We also would like to thank all of our volunteers who helped coordinate and organize these two events. Please continue to pray for Andrew and his family as well as the Kelts family. Monday, May 14 Memorial Day Weekend Bone Marrow Recruitment Drives On Saturday, May 26th(@PDA) and Sunday, May 27th(@FC DELCO), there will be Tents setup @each tournament location. The Bone Marrow Recruitment Drive is in honor of FC Delco U14 Roadkill player Andrew McDonough, who was diagnosed earlier this year with Leukemia in January. He has touched many hearts and lives with his fight and his courage. You can see the path his fight is taking on his website www.caringbridge.org/visit/andrewmcdonough. The organizations of PDA & FC Delco are teaming up during this Soccer Weekend to provide a location @each site for potential donors. On Saturday, May 26th, a tent will be setup @the PDA College Showcase event @PDA's facility. On Sunday, May 27th, a similar tent will be setup @USTC in Downingtown, the Headquarters for the FC Delco Players Cup. Tents will be open between 10am - 3pm. Wednesday, July 12 MAPS/JAGS News for Fall '06 Coaches/Team Managers, Thank you for another wonderful season of league play this past spring. Looking forward, the mandatory league meeting for anyone interested in participating in Maps/Jags in the fall will be held on THURS July 20th @ the Hibernian Club, Kuser Rd-Hamilton. - 7:00 PM is the time to be there if your team is picking up a carding packet thru the Jags league. - 8:00 PM is the time to be there if you are playing in our league, but carding with another league. Registration fee is $75.00 and check is to be made out to "Jags League" IF CARDING WITH US-Fee is $125.00 for the carding packet. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO THE $75.00 Registration Fee. Sunday, April 23 Sad News Within Our Soccer Family We regret to inform you, our soccer community, of the passing over the winter break, of one of our own, Tracey Barnes. Tracey was the mother of Taylor Barnes, who plays sweeper for the Hibernian Express, and succumbed to breast cancer. Many of you in the soccer community have contacted us with your kind words, thoughts, and prayers for Taylor and our team, and they are heartfelt from us. All, thank you for your concerns and thoughtful comments, and we would like to inform you that a scholarship fund has been established in the name of Tracey C. Barnes, to aid her 2 teenage daughters, and help with future potential travel soccer players.
