Lyndon Recreation Association: Lyndon News: IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION
|
| RED SPACES ARE NO PARKING ZONES FOR LYNDON RECREATION |
To All Lyndon Recreation Families, Coaches & Fans:
Over the past few years, the owners of the office buildings adjacent to the park have graciously allowed Lyndon Recreation families to use their parking lots. This has largely solved a huge parking problem that we previously had with a lack of adequate parking. We recently met with the owners to discuss concerns about our continued use of their lots. While they are very supportive of our program and want to continue helping us by sharing their parking facilities, it is imperative that we meet their very reasonable expectations regarding the use of their lots.
All parking spots immediately adjacent to any of their buildings are reserved exclusively for the tenants and their clients. This also applies to any spaces marked as reserved and to the 9 spots that are closest to building 9520 and the Jewish Hospital Family Physician practice, since in that location there are no head-in spaces immediately adjacent to the building. Although some of the tenants of these buildings only need parking during business hours, there are others who need these spaces for themselves and clients during the evenings, including several new tenants that have extended hours.
Concerns were also expressed about Lyndon Recreation patrons driving at excessive speeds through the parking lots. This must be eliminated – not only for the safety of their tenants and clients, but for the Lyndon Recreation families using the lots!
There are also continuing problems with litter and food scraps thrown down in their parking lots, which also must be eliminated. Not only is the litter unsightly, but the food scraps attract geese that also leave their droppings in the lots.
The use of these parking facilities has been so beneficial to our program that it would be practically disastrous if we were to lose them, which is a likely outcome if we fail to meet these very reasonable expectations of the owners. Again, the owners and property managers are very gracious and sincerely want to continue helping us by allowing our families to use most of their parking facilities. Please help us do all we can to ensure that this relationship can continue for the remainder of this year and years to come.
Sincerely,
Bob Amos
