No, we offer tackle football at all ages.
Do we need to purchase any equipment?
Lyndon provides the game jersey, helmet, and all game pads for the season. These will need to be returned to Lyndon at the end of the season. Game jerseys are not permitted to be worn during practices, therefore each player will need to purchase a mesh practice jersey and practice football pants. It is highly recommended that parents purchase a girdle with sewn in hip and thigh pads, along with an athletic cup and supporter.
When do practices begin?
Practices will begin Monday, July 13. Practice will be five nights a week from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. for the first four weeks. Once school begins, the practice schedule will decrease to three nights per week.
What are practices like?
The first week of practice is non-contact conditioning only. Players need to wear a t-shirt, athletic shorts, and cleats. After the first week, the rest of the practices will be in full gear.
Is there anything else to bring to practice?
Each player should bring a one-gallon jug of water to practice. Jugs should be personalized with the player's name.
How long is the season?
The pre-season jamboree will be held around the first of August with the first league games a week after that. Each team will play 10 regular season games, five at Lyndon and five at road sites. The playoffs will begin shortly after the end of the regular season.
