Welcome to the web site of the Long Island Lightning/Prisco Basketball team .The Lightning are a basketball team comprised of fourteen year old girls from Long Island. This team is dedicated to developing its skills and have a strong desire to play competitive basketball.
Lightning/Prisco is a team which came together just four years ago and since then have had a great deal of success. In the last few years the team has played all over the north and southeast area including Washington D.C. , Rhode Island , Virgina, New Jersey and Conn.  Included in our busy AAU schedule is our participation in the Rockville Centre Summer league where for the 5th straight year we won the championship beating  two other Lightning teams along the way.
The Lightning team is coached by Bob Prisco along with assistants Jose Rivera and Dave Nelson . As a result of all the hard work put in by the players we now have 6 players starting at the varsity level with the remaining players all impacting and starting at the JV level.

This year our plan is to expose our players to as many college coaches as possible . We'll do that by entering some of the biggest tournaments on the AAU schedule including the Junior Nationals , the Nike Showcases , Penn State and some of the Blue Chip Showcases.

We expect each player to work hard, play fair, help each other out and want to improve their game. You HAVE to be serious and dedicated to be on this team. We would like to thank all the Lightning Parents for their support and patience during this past year. Without your help the goals we set out to achieve would have never been reached. WHAT WE VALUE - EFFORT , HONESTY , TEAM PLAY , IMPROVEMENT , SPORTSMANSHIP AND ACCOUNTABILITY .
