Lumberton Little League Park  Rules


v  Park rules apply to all league participants and spectators.


v   Lumberton Little League Park is a Tobacco free park.  Smoking and tobacco may only be used in the front parking area. 


v  Regulation XIV (e)   No Tobacco of any kind on the field or, in the dugouts, before, during or after any game. 


v  Parking in designated areas only.


v  No alcoholic beverages at anytime allowed in the park.


v  No firearms allowed in the park.  Exception: Peace officers/Law Enforcement officers. 


v  Home team dugout is on the third base side.


v  The pre-game warm up period will commence 30 minutes prior to the scheduled game time.  Teams, Managers or coaches will forfeit warm up time for late arrival.  Visiting team warms up the first 15 minutes of the warm up period.  Home team will warm up the second 15 minutes of the warm up period.


v  Field duties are assigned as follows:


Home team prepares field for play, laying chalk lines, raking dirt, etc.


Home team picks up trash on the home team side of the field (3rd base side).


Visitor team picks up trash on the visitor side of the field (1st base side).


All trash must be picked up before team is released after the game.


Please help maintain our complex by training players and parents to respect our property which belongs to us all.


v  2008 Little League rules apply to all games unless otherwise noted in LLL park rules.  In the event of a conflict of the rules, Little League rules will prevail.


v  4.10    Six Innings or 1 hour 45 min.  (for first game) Major/Minor League (includes Single A). No Inning shall start after 10pm.   Seven innings or 2 ½ hours for Juniors/Seniors.  Time starts at the scheduled start time.  No inning shall start after time has expired. No inning shall start after 1030pm.   Umpire in Chief will have the official time.  4.10 (f) T-Ball and Coach Pitch 4 innings or 1 ½ hour time limit.  Hustle your players in and out. 

v   8.03   8 warm up pitches or one minute between innings 


v  4.10(e)   10 run rule applies as stated in 2008 Little League rule book.


v  3.17  / Regulation XIV (d)   Maximum of three coaches allowed in the dugout (Single A, Minors, Majors, Juniors, Seniors). A Manager/Coach may not leave the bench or dugout except to confer with a player or an umpire and only after receiving permission from an umpire.  Exception: In minor league, Coach Pitch and T-Ball managers may be on the field for instructional purposes.  At least one adult Manager/Coach must be in the dugout at all times.   Any Coach on the field must have a current 2008 Volunteer application on file with the League.  Failure to have the volunteer application on file will result in the offender not being allowed on the field for the remainder of the 2008 spring season.  The Manager of the team will also be subject to disciplinary action by the Board of Directors.  Only approved managers, coaches and players in uniform are allowed in the dugout.  T-ball and Coach Pitch may have additional coach/parents on the field.  


v  Mandatory play requirements must be met as stated in the 2008 Little League rule book Regulation IV (i).  Each player, must play six consecutive outs defensively, and bat once.  Any player not playing the minimum will result in the Manager being disciplined by the Board of Directors.  There is no exception to this rule unless the game is shortened for any reason, at which time the local league may elect not to impose a penalty on the manager/coach.  Any violation of the mandatory play rule must be noted in the score book and brought to the attention of the League Vp immediately.  
Managers may at their option, bat the entire roster.  


v  Rain outs shall be rescheduled the following Saturday.   Rainouts will be scheduled in the order in which they occur.  No make-ups for rainouts in T-Ball or Coach Pitch.


v  Game cancellations due to weather will be posted on the website.

v  No food in the dugout, or on the playing field with the exception of sunflower seeds, water, sports drinks and soft drinks. 


v  1.08 (Note 1 and 2)  No on deck batters allowed outside the dugout.   Players must remain behind the fenced area of the dugout.  Exception: Junior/Senior League. 


v  1.11 (j)   No Jewelry may be worn by players (watches, rings, pins, necklaces or other metallic objects).  Exception: Medical Alert bracelet.


v  Regulation XIV(f)   Coaches  are not allowed to warm up pitchers on or off the field during the game.  


v  1.12   Catcher must use a catchers mitt.  Exception: T-Ball and Coach Pitch. 


v  Players must keep their helmet on at all times when batting or on the bases.   1.17   No after market decals or paint will be allowed on helmets.  Anything applied to the helmet must be approved by the manufacturer.


v  Runners must avoid collisions by sliding when necessary.  Malicious contact offensively or defensively will not be tolerated and will result in the player(s) being ejected from the game.


v  7.08 (a)   No Head first slides are permitted, unless returning to a base to avoid being put out.  Any runner sliding head first shall be called out.  Exception: Junior/Senior League


v  No cell phones are allowed on the playing field or dugout at any time.


v  4.06   No profanity or verbal abuse of players, managers, coaches, umpires, other parents, spectators, etc.  Umpires and Board members will enforce this rule and when needed, have the offender escorted from the LLL Complex.  Continued or repetitive abuse may result in offender being banned from remaining season games.  Managers or Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their players as well as their fans.  Any Manager that is ejected from a game will serve the mandatory suspension required by the 2007 Little League rule Book.  Managers and Coaches may also be subject to discipline as decided by the Board of Directors.  Managers or Coaches that are ejected from a game may not Manage or Coach a tournament team. 


v  Managers or Coaches may at the Umpires discretion be warned, restricted to the dugout, or ejected from the game for conduct violations as well as repeatedly violating the rules.  Opinion calls, ball or strike, safe or out, fair or foul shall not be argued.  


v  Protesting a game, Rule 4.19 must be followed. 

Minor League:
Protests must be settled before play continues. 
A ruling by the protest committee is final.  Protest committee shall consist of the President, Player Agent, the Leagues Umpire in Chief,  and one or more other officers or directors who are not managers or umpires.  In the event one or more of the protest committee members are not available, any available board member may assist the available members.


v  Managers are responsible for providing 5 adults (18 yoa) for 2 shifts. 5-7pm and 7-9pm  for the concession stand on their scheduled night.  Teams/Mangers not providing the required workers will subject the manager to a two game suspension from their next two scheduled games.  Teams not wishing to work their scheduled concession stand shift may pay $250.00 per shift ($500 total) to cover the hiring of paid workers.  This must be paid a minimum of one week prior to the scheduled work day.  This must be approved by the concessions director.


v  It shall be the responsibility of the Manager to review the foregoing rules with each player, coach and players parents.
