This program is designed for boys and girls 5-6 year olds and teaches skills and drills. The primary focus of this program is to teach proper throwing, catching and hitting as well as the rules of the game in a fun environment. Coaches will utilize game situation and scrimmages towards the end of the the 6 weeks. The goal is to have your child well prepared to play in the 7 & 8 year old division. CAN A PLAYER "PLAY UP" A DIVISION?
- In rare instances, with coach and board approval, we will allow a player to participate 1 year above their league age.
CAN WE MAKE A SPECIAL REQUEST FOR A COACH OR PLAYER? - YES -We are fine with special requests for a coach or for 'friends' to be on the same team. While most of the time we can accomodate these requests we CAN NOT guarantee them. Please Note your requests at the top of your registration form.
CAN I COACH AND WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? - YES! We encourage that! Volunteer coaches are almost always in need. Each team generally has a coach and one assistant. You will need to fill out a Volunteer Application and provide a copy of your drivers license. We do background checks on ALL our coaches. The board approves all coaches and then you are REQUIRED to attend the Annual "Coaches Clinic" that takes place at the High School with Coach Miller.
I DON'T WANT TO COACH BUT HOW ELSE CAN I VOLUNTEER? -Their are NUMEROUS ways you can volunteer! Everything from helping with data entry to field maintenance and the concession stand. Please check our Volunteer Section for detailed information. Also, check for our next board meeting and consider attending. It's not only a great way to meet people and be involved but you get to make a huge contribution to the community!
HOW CAN I SPONSOR A TEAM AND WHAT DO I RECEIVE? Sponsor packages vary, but you will be mentioned on our website, have team shirts and hats. - Email us directly as Lowelllittleleague@gmail.com and we will send you that information directly. In most cases, parents can sponsor their child's team. We recognize businessese are often 'hit up' for sponsors or donations from various events. We highly encourage participants to patronize our sponsors.
HOW DO I DONATE TO LOWELL LITTLE LEAGUE? - We are now set up to accept online donations! We always mention donations or sponsors on our website. Also, each year we have a candybar fundraiser and we encourage small businesses to buy a 'box' of our candy bars to sell at their establishment. This is a GREAT way to help out Little League without digging DEEP in your own pockets. E-mail us direct to find out how to buy a box of our candybars. Lowelllittleleague@gmail.com
