National and Regional Teams
CLUB TEAMS

There will be a 2-category system of teams for the 2000/2001 season -- National Teams and Regional Teams.

National Teams will be made up of the best LCVBC players in each age group who know they are totally committed to Club volleyball and, in almost all cases, are NOT playing another sport at the same time in HS. National Teams will play in the Power Division in all Palmetto Regional Tournaments and will be entered in Orlando, Atlanta, Tampa, and Asheville. We expect these girls to miss no more than one (1) tournament during the entire season, and to make a minimum of 80% of the practices (weekday and weekend). Any player who does not fulfill the above requirements during the season (unless injured) will be moved from their National Team to a Regional Team. National Teams are guaranteed a full-time, experienced coach. National Team rosters will normally be 8-9 players.

Regional Teams will be made up of players who are new and therefore don¹t know for sure how they¹ll like Club, girls who played last year and know they don¹t want the heavy commitment, and most girls who are playing another HS sport during Club season. Regional Teams will play in the Club Division in all Palmetto Regional Tournaments and will not be entered in out-of-Region tournaments. We expect these girls to miss a maximum of two (2) tournaments during the entire season and make a minimum of 80% of the Sunday practices and 50% of the weekday practices.   Any player who does not fulfill the above requirements during the season (unless injured) will be dropped from the Club. Girls can move up from Regional to National if they can satisfy the National commitments, the coaches agree with the move, and there is an opening on the National Team. All Regional Teams may not have a single, dedicated coach all season. Regional Teams will have a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 players on each team.

The mix of teams within National and Regional categories, and the various age groups, will depend upon the results of tryouts as well as the ages of the various players. Therefore, LCVBC will not commit in advance to any player that they will play on a National Team if they desire to do so, nor for that matter that there will be a National or Regional Team in their age group that they are qualified to play on.

Club Fee Structure
CLUB FEES

National Teams - The season¹s fee will be $550, which will pay for USAV Registration; uniforms (2 shirts/2 shorts); all tournament entry fees to include all Palmetto Region tournaments plus Orlando, Atlanta, Tampa, and Asheville; and the player¹s share of Club equipment costs and coach¹s travel expenses.

Regional Teams - These girls pay $250 for USAV Registration, tournament entry fees, uniforms (1 shirt/1 shorts), and their share of Club equipment costs and coach¹s travel expenses.

Fees will be payable in three (3) installments for National Teams:

C         50% by November 26, 2000
C         30% by December 31, 2000
C         20% by January 21, 2001

Fees will be payable in two (2) installments for Regional Teams:

C         60% by November 26, 2000
C         40% by January 7, 2001

HOW TO REDUCE CLUB FEES

Several fund-raising projects will be offered to help players cover their Club fees. Someone who is aggressive could pay for her entire season through fund raising. Last season a number of girls did just that. Information on projects will be announced at the Organizational Meetings in November.

Additionally, each team will have an adult (parent) team representative who will be responsible for ensuring that everyone on the team has transportation to and from tournaments (plus practices if necessary) and that motel rooms are obtained for the team for overnight trips. The Team Representatives will get a 25% discount off their daughter¹s fees. Team Representatives MUST have email.
