You are registering to play Little League baseball for Loudoun South Little League. Your child’s division assignment will be determined based on "league age" and previous experience, and in some cases, results of a tryout. Your player’s league age is determined by his or her age on April 30, 2010; you can determine league age using this age chart.

Within these age guidelines, the following approach will be followed to place your child:

  • Players for T-Ball, Rookie, and Single A may be considered for the division above the one they played in Spring 2009. Player evaluations completed at the conclusion of the Spring 2009 and Fall 2009 seasons will be reviewed to determine whether the player should move to the next division or remain in their current division another season.  Once the players are placed in a division, the player agent for that division will place each player on a team.

  • Players who played Single A or above during the Spring 2009 season, and players 9 years old and older will participate in a tryout to determine division placement. Each player will try out using specific criteria designed to assess their ability to play in the next division. Those who meet or exceed the criteria will be drafted in the next division; the remaining ones will play in their current division.

Our goal is to have divisions that are competitive and players in the division that are evenly “matched.”  We ask each parent to assist us in managing these expectations with your player through the tryout and roster preparation process.
