Girl Under 12- 2006 A year to re-build...Girls Under 13 2007 Looks Promising!
The 2006 T-Cats endured several personel setbacks, to recover and finish fifth in league, and a State Ranking of #53.

We did this despite Losing 4 starters from the previous season, and losing the help of a few other players:
1) My sweeper left for another team to play with girls in her grade.
2) My Left back moved to Paraguay for 2 years.
3) My right back quit to play competitive softball
4) My starting Center mid left for greener pastures.
5) One of my strongest players has been injured (hamstring) since a pre-season Soccer Camp, and played her first game at District Cup(!).
6) My starting stopper/marking back has a "ballet" commitment, and could only play between shows and practices.

The core team played out of position, short players, and had to constantly elevate their play, just to survive in many games. All of the girls "stepped up".

But, the core team still played well enough to beat several ranked teams-
We've always been competitive against any team we’ve played except against Bay Oaks Gold/Speed Demons- #10- they out classed us, and "outsized" us

Teams we've beat:
3-1 #26 Lamorinda
2-1 #26 Lamorinda
3-1 #47 Bay Oaks Blades
2-0 #50 FC Fremont Flash
4-1 #54 Peninsula Blue Lightning
2-0 #54 Peninsula Blue Lightning

The girls still did well enough to end up in the 15th spot, and finished 4th in division 2 district cup, and maintain a #53 state ranking.

Tryouts for the 2007 team has produced some very exciting talented additions at our goalkeeper position, new strength at the center back positions, a dominating center midfielder, a crafty and quick left outside mid, and a new striker that is nationally ranked in the 100 meter dash...

We plan on being a much improved team, and look to improve our league, and State standings in 2007!

One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, now GO CATS GO!

Cheers! - Ed

A Look Back At The U11 ThunderCats 2005 Season...
We're getting better...
What started slowly has become a really fun year. Faster decisions, enhanced fitness, body size, and elevated skills are all required to even compete in the Ambronzino league. Its been extremely tough. But we compensate, adapt and assimilate on!
In our pre-season tournaments, the teams we faced were buzz-saws and nothing less than State ranked teams, and the girls got the feel for playing 55 games in one season for the first time.
Players in this rare air are faster, bigger, they execute passes sharper, and everyone finishes with finesse and power. Its fabulous to have the girls play at this level.

Our task in our first 2 years was learn to be competitive, and we have accomplished that.
Last season we learned to work our magic with the bigger pitch, and had to control our new found intensity, and focus it, and control it, and turn every won ball into a scoring opportunity. Posess, posess, posess...MOVE THE BALL!

Keep working hard girls, and good things will happen...U12's!

The Cat Files: U16 Cat's core carry's on...
Our sixth year as a club team has been a memorable one. We started out again with pre-season work on touch, skills, agility, and strength, but added focus to passing and shooting ACCURACY, and high speed movement.

And look where it took us. At the pre-season Pacifica tournament, we took second place in a star studded line-up that included the defending state champions (Placer), and this year's quarter finalist (Modesto Nightmare) and almost winning the whole thing. Placing in three tourney's is good work, and keeps the competitive fires burning...
We finished in the middle of a tight pack in league play, where the state Association Cup runner up (Arsenal) dominated- Yet our team was competitive.

Congratulations to the 2005 Thundercats for an great season!!! And thanks to the team's parents for all that you do!

The 2006 team rebuilds with a strong core, and already has the MVP keeper of the league Tina Bardes playing in the keep, as we look forward to a great fall season.
