The Rose family would like to congratulate Kaitlyn Bannon the 2009 winner of the Christie Rose Scholarship. 

In memory of Christie Rose, an avid hockey player, and a proud member of the PWHL, this scholarship is being awarded on an annual basis to recognize a young woman who shares the same qualities and characteristics as Christie.

• A good student
• A good athlete, and
• A good person, who has a desire to make the world a better place

Congratulations Kaitlyn.

Christie was an 18-year-old young woman who passed away on June 24, 2008, as a result of her injuries suffered in a car accident.

Christie had a real zest for life. She was a funny and big-hearted person, who was very compassionate. Christie was open-minded and had strong social values; a leader and a hard-worker, who inspired those around her. Christie had a real passion for hockey; she loved the game, the competition, and most of all her teammates.

Those who wish to apply for this scholarship should be: 

• A good student
• A good athlete, and
• A good person, who has a desire to make the world a better place

• A graduating PWHL player
•  Attending a Canadian University or College

 Application form and supporting documents must be submitted by June 30, 2010.
