RULES & REG.Administrative Rules
1.Teams and first game schedule will be posted online only at www.londonhockeyinline.com around April 15, 2008.
2. Requests for particular team assignments will be honoured at the sole discretion of the LHI. The LHI will do
everything in it’s power to grant requests but in order to create evenly matched teams some requests may not occur.
3.Payment in full must accompany individual registration in order to reserve a spot in the league.
4.Payment of $500.00 must accompany adult team registration in order to reserve a spot in the league.
5.Refund requests must be submitted in writing.
6.Refund requests submitted on or before the registration deadline (April 6, 2008) will be honoured subject to a
$25.00 processing fee.
7.Refund requests submitted between the registration deadline and May 1, 2008 will be subject to a 50%
processing fee.
8.Refund requests after May 1, 2008 may or may not be honoured in the sole discretion of the LHI. Playing Rules
9. The coincidental penalty rule is in effect for the youth league but not for the adult league.
10. ZERO TOLERANCE – No Fighting – minimum 2 game suspension for the first offence. Minimum 4 game suspension for the second offence. In the event of a third offence the player will be suspended for the remainder of the season.
11. No Checking – only incidental contact will be allowed.
12. Any player receiving 3 minor (2 min.) penalties in one game will receive a game ejection penalty. A game ejection penalty carries no additional game suspensions.
13. Any player receiving a 5 minute major penalty will receive an automatic game misconduct penalty.
14. Any player receiving a game misconduct penalty will miss the remainder of that game and at minimum, the next full game scheduled for his team.
15. All appeals or protests of suspensions must be in writing no more than 24 hours after the time of the game. A non-refundable $50.00 money order or cashiers check must accompany each appeal or protest.
16. Teams are responsible for the conduct of their respective spectators. In the event a spectator becomes disruptive during a game, penalties may be assessed against the respective spectator’s team.
17. GAMES WILL CONSIST OF TWO (2) – 17 MINUTE STOP TIME PERIODS.
18. Mercy Rule – Once an eight goal differential is reached, the clock will run during stoppages. The clock will return to stop time when the goal differential is less than five.
19. In the event of a tie game during the regular season, a 3 player shoot out will be conducted. If the tie remains after the 3 player shoot out, a sudden victory shoot out will occur (each player must shoot before players can shoot again in the shoot out).
20. No time-outs will be allowed.
21. Referee calls as well as decisions of league officials are final. Inappropriate challenges or arguments to referee calls or decisions of league officials will not be tolerated. It should be understood that referees and officials will assess such penalties and/or suspensions deemed necessary to maintain order in the league for the benefit of all participants.
22. All teams must be ready to play for their scheduled game time. Teams will be permitted a three minute warm-up. Teams not ready to play at the end of the three minute warm-up will be assessed a delay of game penalty. If teams are not ready to play within 10 minutes of their scheduled game time, their team will forfeit the game.
